£50m in advanced payments and interest free loans for clubs, then hoping the govt will help. Any finance bods got some fag packet maths for how much it’s cost to keep the EFL 72 going for 2-3 months?

I’m sure the government ain’t going to give a flying fuck about football clubs, lots of which are run by dodgy fuckers, and pay silly wages to young kids who can’t behave themselves!

And don’t even get me started on the tax fiddling, and V.A.T. dodging!!!

Seems that there is contingency at least , hope the money is accessible to every club that needs it in time . Also seems they are adament about concluding the season .. in a world full of toilet roll hoarders seems common sense might prevail

So you can only borrow £183K. What have we lost, roughly, in ticket revenue for the remaining games? Is that what they're trying to compensate for?

Then they hope it all gets sorted over the summer and back to business as usual next season.

The Peterborough chairman mentioned 600k

Is that just for this period though? Didn’t City say the three weeks alone would cost £400k? You could be taking about £100m+ all in. Peanuts compared to some of the sums thrown around. Obviously Championship teams will be a lot more expensive. Call it £250m? Worth it from government to save lower league football IMO.

Boddy said £400k for the three cancelled games I’m sure. So if the season doesn’t finish that’s got to push £1m just for a L1 side. Championship wages could be ten times that. Thinking about it you’re probably looking at £250m for the Championship alone. Hopefully more of them can make it through without support.

Simon Jordan went through the finances the other day on talksport. It would cost everyone including the premier league around £160m

Surprisingly low. And that’s until the start of next season?

400k in 3 games is bollocks.
5k supporters at £20 is 100k x3 is £300k. Since many of those will be oap or kids its much less. Bit of F&B profit but not a lot after overheads imagine 10k match tops. Real estimatr more like 200k imo which will be covered.

Loans are only going to work if the games have ticket sales

Yes apparently so. However this is figures worked out by Mr Jordan who spunked 50m on Crystal Palace.
His explanations did seem plausible though.

I'm for putting up £200 now as a deposit on next year's season ticket. Irrespective of where we're playing or what league. After all this is money the club should be getting around this time in early bird ticket sales.
Fair play pal

Is it any different to the summer break? If the remaining games of this season are played at the end of this summer, won’t it all be the same.

So the end date is indefinite, what happens with player contracts? Are they going to open a transfer window if players don't want to extend?

Can't see them opening the transfer window until the season is completed as some would just go out and spend a lot money knowing they're so near. I therefore guess there'll be special dispensation to extend contracts by 1-3 months, if agreed by both parties.

Effectively we have a 10 game mini season coming up, where everyone else plays either 9 or 8 games, and we have a 7 point lead over 3rd. We should be OK.
Can see teams who are mid-table and not in danger of going up or down not taking it very seriously. Will be like a pre-season for them.

I suspect the players we want to keep will be offered extensions and the others will be allowed to run down
Pretty ruthless but it happens at the end of June every year
