CWR going to Wasps (1 Viewer)

Just watched the game in Geneva - 5 annoyed Sunderland fans in there which made it better. Was loving reading this and listening to the phone in on the train home but to finish it with a post from a ‘fan’ saying ‘Well done City and good luck Wasps’ as a cue to switch to the rugby comms is a disgrace really. I say this as an overseas fan who listens to all the phone-ins.
Note: edited the title as although not right I do think Oggy has been brilliant and the commentary and service is way better than this level of football (I paid for the Stoke City comms when my father-in-law came to visit and that really was bad...).

Surely now surely Coventry radio should cover a Coventry team , if everyone raises an issue with the BBC it should show our discontent I think there is a contact us on their website

If you've paid for the rights to broadcast live sport, you broadcast the live sport. Be stupid not to in favour of some people calling in who half the time can barely string a sentence together or just ignore the game to talk about the owners/Wasps etc.

Exactly, loads moan about the phone in and when it doesn't happen they moan. I am enjoying a celebratory beer rather than worry about what the radio is or isn't broadcasting.

I wonder how many people actually listen to Wasps commentary. I wouldn't think that many do I would think that their listening figures plunged as soon as they went from our phone in to the Wasps game.

Completely agree.
How many listeners following city actually care at all about anything wasps ?
It's a bit like saying they're popping over to villa park to find out the team news there.

I turned straight over to another station. Not going to listen to that boring shite after we went top of the league.

If you have enough time and are so inclined submit a FOI (freedom of information request) to the BBC as tax (licence fee) payers who fund their wages you are able to request these numbers.

It’s a rugby phone in on Wednesdays I think
I know that there is a rugby show on Wednesday but that features Cov and local sides as well. I didn’t think that there was a phone in element to that but I might be wrong.
I have noticed that, as far as I can tell, John Butler, the guy who reports on and sometimes commentates on Cov games, and who also does the announcing at Cov home matches, never has anything to do or say with the Wasps part of the programme. I wonder what he feels about them being here and how the local media have elevated them above the City’s true rugby team?

It isn't an FOI thing I don't think, these things are collected by people like Ipsos Mori. I did a survey once and got paid a fiver.
