Long trip to Southend,, want them nice and fresh for this one, sounds like the weather is going to be crap, does the team go down on the Fridays for these long trips and stay over ?

Sol Campbell referring to them as Southampton. Hopefully he still doesn't know who he's managing on Saturday.
Sol Campbell sounds like Shaggy to me! just read the CET article:joyful:

Will be surprised if this goes ahead though. Forecast is for winds at least as strong as Sunday. Can see a lot of games called off for safety reasons even without the heavy rain.

I'm taking your weather predictions a with a pinch of salt mate.
You posted on Tuesday the Roost was empty and by the time I got there they were queueing outside and it was 1 in 1 out!

Isn't Dabo on 8 yellow cards? Reckon we could rest him so he will defo be available for Rotherham...

This. Hope they make a decision on Friday, as we're setting off at 8.30am. Really looking forward to the day, but if I'm honest, i'd rather the game was called off if there are going to be 40-50mph winds, as that can only hinder us. Sooner play them when the weather has zero effect on the result, as then we will beat them.

Why would you rather the game was called off when lots of people will have arranged travel? I doubt it will be off as it’s expected to be nowhere near as bad as last weekend, and games down south were played on last Sunday

Hopefully the storm changes course. Booked non-refundable hotel for Friday and Saturday, plus 3 hour drive from Bournemouth, so I will be going to Southend regardless, just hope the game is on!

That's always the problem with postponed games, yeah your ticket is valid for the rearranged game, but it's the cost of travel/accommodation that is the biggest issue. The £22 ticket is insignificant.

think I will try and steer our party in the direction of a day on the beer in London if the game is off.

If this storm lands the game will be in serious doubt

Why will it when weather predictions are nowhere near as bad as when Storm Ciara stuck last weekend? Southend is expected to avoid much of the predicted rainfall as well so the pitch should be fine.

We need to win by a big margin to boost our goal difference. With Peterboro winning every match 4-0 lately, we need to also start putting away our chances more often than not. This match should present a great opportunity to do that.

Lets hope not, can't do with piling up more mid week games (at least it's "away" i guess).

Change it around for one half - play 2 up front. Lots of wind means box-to-box high balls.

Has anyone been there before when it's been windy? I see the stands are quite low, so imagine there's not much protection from the wind.

However, I imagine Bristol Rover's ground effects the gameplay more than Southend's?

Would love two early goals for us so that we can relax a little for the rest of the game

Southend look to be in disarray with U23's in the team and experienced players injured. Also Campbell having a dig at those above him about not being able to bring anyone in during January, could be the best time to play them and hit 'em hard

I'm one of those travelling. Forecast 50mph wind at kick off time. Hope the BBC weather people are wrong, but if you think that will suit our fooball.....

Their home form isn't too bad though, looked at their results and don't think they've lost many recently at home.
