tbf, if we don't go up, one of the results to point to will have been failing to finish off a bunch of teenagers at Bolton. If we'd compounded that by failing to win the return at home, then it'd have just accentuated that.

This result shows trends of our season, both good and bad. A troubling inability to finish off the worse teams as we should, but a determination not to give up that sees a fair few late goals.
Yes but playing a bunch of teenagers away forst game was always the worst time to play them. They were always going to give it their all, so much to prove - but week in week out is a different matter. A point away is always a point gained.

Yes, now the 3 points are in the bag it's all that matters. What's the point in having a forum though? A match thread? All I've done is point out we had an off day despite it, I've not called for the manager to be sacked or suggested we're getting relegated.

You're just chasing people around this thread criticising anyone who has some concerns about how the team played. It's quite ridiculous and you need to chill out.
Actually I’m calling you out as before the game was even over you were banging on about how you saw it all coming, you knew what all the problems were, you couldn’t wait to tell all and sundry about how you knew why it was all going so badly wrong.

Max is a big player for us and anyone who doesn’t see it knows absolutely nothing about football.
Grendel has proven that he meets that criteria repeatedly.

We were playing crap and not looking like scoring. If we don’t reflect on why then against better teams we’re not going to last it out.

If he had his way this forum would be the most boring place on earth. No posts until the game is over and no discussion of the game, just meaningless platitudes over and over.

I never singled you out on Tuesday, I don’t even know what you said.

Context is important here. I’ve never said that it’s wrong to be critical. But to call players ‘shit’ and ‘garbage’ isn’t fucking being critical, it’s being a fuckingdick.

Yes emotions run high and we needed to win but you make a choice when it goes 1-1. Being critical is fine... but you either get behind the players or hurl abuse at them.

And saying today was an ‘abject performance’ ...compared to what we’ve been served up over recent years...sounds a touch rich.

Edit to add: We were off the pace and we were out muscled by a physical team. But there were flashes of good play and a never say die attitude.

No discussion of the game allowed! Complementary posts only!

Yes, but there is analysis and there is negative moaning. After what happened on Tuesday we just needed to win, not win pretty. A home win and an away draw against any team is a decent return.

Fucking hell when did this place get so toxic.

Delighted with that win and biamous goal was even sweeter because we didn’t deserve it.

We won and that’s all that matters but it’s okay to acknowledge our faults, comment on and debate them, and share your hopes and concerns. Some right sad bastards who are happier they can score imaginary points going back and blowing up people’s comments than they are with winning the game haha. Get a life ffs, everyone wants the team to win so fuck off

You got it. Today was always going to be hard after Tuesday, take a look at Oxford today. Yet the expectation was to hammer these out of sight, which is just misguided and naive. And when we don’t hammer them out of sight, out come the naysayers to say it’s all not good enough. For me today was a ‘free pass’- they didn’t need to entertain me, didn’t need to excite me, but they did need to fucking well win, and then step it up for Portsmouth. And that’s just what we did- a great job done. But all we hear is a discussion on how poor we were- today was not about entertainment, today was to avoid any kind of cup hangover and just win the game.

Bolton had some experienced players, they are no mugs for sure and they grew in to the game. Not all of our players are going to be at their best but we did enough to win.
As it has been said I thought Dabo was fine going forward but was beaten too often in defending.
For all O'Hare's industry his flicks didn't come off for him and gave Bolton cheap possession. Kelly does what he does but was slightly exposed IMO, Walsh is just sublime.
Biamou is becoming a very important player. Credit to the team for winning.
Losing to Portsmouth is not the end of the race but hopefully they will come and face a team that can expose them and be strong at the back. After all that is what we have been doing all season.

Spot on regarding Kelly & O’Hare
