But never played the successful if a bit unusual Regis/ Houchen partnership together again after the FA Cup final. I could say a lot about Speedie who was a terrific talent but would argue was he the right partner for big Cyrillie. Sill also signed Painter, Bannister, Drinkell, Martin Lane, Kevan Smith. But he give us our greatest moment which I doubt would have happened without his motivation skills.
Question when Curtis stepped aside who replaced him ?

I half agree with you- his signings you're right. Houchen- I never thought he was quite top level material, and I don't think Curtis did much at all in the dressing room apart from be part of the double act and be the resident hard man. I give Sillett 95% credit for 86/87.

They couldn’t as promotion and those trophies weren’t available

Robins did, nobody else did. Facts kind of matter when you're stacking up achievements of managers, you don't have anywhere to go. Already Robins can put his achievements up against virtually every manager we've ever had and come out on top, if he goes one better then that just solidifies it.

Your agenda is clear- you wanted him booted out the door and you're not man enough to concede you were wrong.

Yes that must cancel out his achievement then because his team didn’t play 800 passes a game

Football is a results business

Football is a results business.

Then you agree that 2 promotions & one cup would overcome an 8th place finish followed by meltdown and a sacking. Agreed.

Forgetting the sales of our youth products like (Maddison, Stevenson, Bayliss, Wilson, Bigi, Harries etc)... How many players have we bought in and sold for a profit in the last 5/6 years?

Vincelot? - That money was reinvested (badly)
Sordell? - That money was reinvested (badly)

It seems to me that when a manager generates their own profit on a player they are given some of it back.

People saying "no other managers were given £750k to spend on Godden". No but he's built that up from getting McNulty on a free and selling him. Using half that money to buy Chaplin and sell him. Use some of that money to buy Godden. It all started from a free transfer.

Why forget the sales of youth players?

8th in the Championship is a better achievement than 6th in League 2

Is it better than 6th in League Two, a cup, and promotion from League One?

Your argument that Micky Adams was a better manager for us than Mark Robins is an interesting take on things, not sure you're thinking too clearly :emoji_relaxed:

A promotion from League One? We’re 4th and have 19 games remaining...

At last someone gets it. Good, sound, sensible, forward thinking management.

Because the manager doesn't source them, they are already there. It was a great example of Robins managing properly and generating improvements to the team externally, as opposed to taking advantage of talent that was already in the club and which would have been there whoever the manager was.

But earlier you were talking about how well Robins has done to develop Bayliss.

So you’d argue Graham Turner was a better manager at Wolves than Nunes?

Also I assume you’d argue he’s achieved more than Sam Allardyce?

Surely if you’re saying lower league achievements aren’t worth as much as mid table in the top division Jimmy Hill doesn’t come close? That can’t be right.

Would people agree he’s the best manager since the FA Cup win?

Not my club, not close enough to it- but unlike you I will attempt to answer. Turner certainly turned them around massively over 8 years, but as I said- armed with bags of money plus Mutch & Bull, then tailed off in Division Two (ie the championship) and couldn't take them further before being shown the door. Nunes has been there 2 years and I wouldn't have thought has been there long enough to be going down as a more important historical manager than Turner... yet... because of the investment that went in as well, its too early to know if he's a proper all time managerial star for them or if its a quick stint then off. But he's probably well on his way. Like I say- I don't really know, I can't make that call as I don't know the history as I do with my own club.

The point is that Wolves had Bull, Mutch, money, no debt- Robins has none of those luxuries but yet he still might be able to replicate what Wolves did, and faster.

Yep- just, although thats if we go up and Bobby Gould & Gordon Strachan might have something to say about it.

When I am talking about our top three managers ever, I am not sure how Sam Allardyce comes into the equation, please explain what on earth that has to do with anything.

Let me guess- Robins (the man you want sacked) is not potentially in our top three managers because Dave Bassett got more promotions. Why not go the whole hog? "Taxi for Robins, Ian Holloway has way more promotions than him"

I said to Stuart Linnell this is the best team on the pitch since Strachans “Entertainers”, but Strachan has Richardson mortgaging the clubs future to provide players. I never felt he was particularly tactically astute so much as has a sweet shop transfer budget.

Can't really argue with you. The good feeling towards him really comes from 97/98 and his personality.
