Far better than ours. Norwich brought the wrong one.

Our Maddison has much much more natural ability than theirs. If he really wants it then James will have a much better career and play at a higher level.

Oops I forgot, now JM is not a cov player he's shots, good riddance etc

There are a lot of Madders revivalist threads knocking about. I can't be bothered to look at my old posts, although I do recall being vocal in that we'd underestimated his worth (a lot) when we sold him. Just hope Southgate doesn't stay obsessed with his Mason Mount love in over Maddison, at England's expense.

If mason mount has come through the ranks under 21’s etc then idiot Southgate will prefer him it’s how he works he thinks there is real value in the under age sides.

Southgate and Dan Ashworth put a plan together when Roy Hodgson was in charge. So far sticking to the principles of that plan has delivered an England u17 world champion team, an England u20 world champion team and the senior team reached a world cup semi final. Can you see what's happening?

Nothing will happen, England have always had good age group sides and never progress

This hasn't aged well either.
Shows how little so many on here know doesn't it.

What I find is that people write players off far too readily and more importantly, far too quickly.

I still think Bayliss will go on to be a top player.

I did also think Stevenson was going to be very good though.

Unfortunately it seems to be mentality that is going to hold Stevenson back. Talent wise don't think there is much between Bayliss and Stevenson, Bayliss seems much more determined from the choices he's made and his performances on the pitch

Yep. For the most part it seems like Stevenson's talent is stuck in his head.

Lol. Tha is for bringing this up. I'll admit I was never convinced Madders would make it at the top level. Thought he was too slight of frame and went to ground too easily.
Been proven wrong and I'm enjoying his career now.

U17, u20 champions and world cup semi is not progress?
Always the bridesmaid...
We will always have the problem w we whilst our best young players sit going backwards in reserve teams for 3 years.
I am starting to warm to lampard with his trust in the youngsters playing. It wouldn’t have happened a couple of years ago. If more clubs follow their lead then the national team may progress

Totally agree that these young lads deserve a chance. Shame it's taken a transfer ban for Chelsea to take notice.
Can't accept that having a plan is a bad thing.

Makes you wonder what would be happening to all these youngsters that are doing well for Chelsea if they didn’t have the ban.

He still goes to ground easily but in the higher leagues you get away with it more, he is also more protected away from the kickers in league one, it’s a real shame he is doing it all at Leicester although I can’t see him being there to long

To be fair people whose job it is to assess ability/potential in players can end up paying £40m for Joelinton.
