Won't be as long as 10 years. Something will give before that (plus I'll have turned militant a good while before that - The People's Front of Judea and all that!)
As much as it would be nice to think there will be some magical ‘turning point’ where we’ve all had enough and the riots start, truth is it will more than likely just slowly fizzle out. Crowds will dwindle to the point the team can no longer compete against other league clubs and we’ll just slowly fade into (even more) obscurity.

And then a few people will call foul, but it will be a bit fucking late by then.

I am slightly concerned that we all seem to be lying down and accepting it. BOHICA.

And yes. I have had a glass of wine.

Nobody is lying down and accepting it, everyone knows we need to be back in Coventry sooner rather than later.

We as fans are looking for direction, I mean I’m all for public denunciations against wasps. But generally even the fans group have been silent, not counting for the bollocks they put out last week.

I assume the team doing well has hindered this. Everyone is just focussed on the football. Just await the slump - then the trust will be out in force, SISU OUT, KEEP COV IN COV etc

Well, nothing to suggest anything different from the owners so far
Ever considered that publicly announcing your every intention might not be the best negotiating tactic?

Did it upset you when we signed players and naughty mr robins didn’t tell the telegraph in advance?

Yeah I agree the team doing well has taken everyone’s minds off things, but it does feel like we’ve all just accepted it (for now maybe). There’s not much in the way of pressure being put on our esteemed owners to come up with a realistic plan for returning to Coventry by any of the supposed fans’ groups that I am aware of. And there’s nothing coming from them, other than sound bites about us having to play in Cov.

And as for the trust...

Delighted he’s doing the transfer business in private.

Thousands haven’t followed us to Birmingham. The owners need to give some hope and a reason to believe this is short term.

Two very different things. No reason to announce transfer targets, every reason to keep fans up to date about trying to get back home.

Glad you have faith they are currently negotiating. What do you think is happening ?

It all started when London Wasps moved to Coventry and it hardly caused a major uproar. This has been coming for a long time and the facts are we don’t have a ground of our own or anywhere to return to in the city.

If we accept playing second fiddle to the franchise then league 1 is the best we can hope for.

Maybe nothing. Maybe then have no other option than the Ricoh and are desperate for Wasps to crumble and reach out to them. Should they announce that if it’s the case? Would that make you happier?

Maybe they’ve got a cunning plan for a Coventry based stadium (doubt it). Should they announce that too and ruin any chances of it happening?

Maybe they are in discussions with Wasps about a long term deal but can’t agree on the rent or conditions. Should they announce that too and invite pressure from the fans?

Either way we are here for the season. I’d expect an update next summer. For now just support the team and enjoy the exciting football and good results on a great pitch in a better stadium in a better location

It’s a long shot, but probably our best shot, but the best thing that could happen is we get promoted. Makes us more of a loss to Wasps and changes the financial situation. Plus it’ll boost the crowds while we are away.

On what planet did it start with Wasps? At every point we’ve voluntarily given up our stake in our own stadium, going back to Richardson.

Funnily enough I am. It’s way easier for me to get to St. Andrews, pubs are better and way more hotels to stay in nearby.

The problem is the many thousand who aren’t going. We are losing money and future fans. What happens in the summer for you to expect an update ?

Respectfully, Don’t agree. That’s exactly what we are doing. I am not saying what we should or shouldn’t do, but surely what is happening is, some fans (inc me) are going to watch the team at St. Andrews and many others aren’t.

No protests, no demonstrations, no fully fledged support for one game to demo strength in numbers etc

What would be great is a demonstration walk from Coventry to Birmingham on a match day, block up the a45, fill St. Andrews etc, simply won’t happen, accepting it is exactly what is happening

What on earth will any of that shit do?

Also what do you actually suggest then? Wasps won’t let us stay because of the EC thing so come on, what should the club or the fans actually do?

Don’t think any of us have the answers, but at the moment there is no pressure being put on any of the relevant parties it seems.

Wasps appear to be planning for life without CCFC and god only knows what our owners are actually doing about any of it. I’m not saying they should give away any negotiating positions, but silence isn’t going help the relationship with fans long-term.

If we have a mid-table finish and are in Birmingham next year I dread to think what the attendance will be.

Obviously Richardson and leaving HR is where it actually started but the grossly excessive £1.2M a year rent and the franchise moving here.

It exacerbated the situation and will impact the club for long after SISU have gone.

Everyone and that includes everyone knows we are attending to support ccfc without condoning the move. Everyone knows we need to play in Coventry but as someone says that’s not possible

You have missed out on a lot of detail in the middle.

How did we end up with SISU? How did we end up in so much debt? How much did we rent HR back for? Why didn't we buy the land that the Ricoh stands on with the proceeds from HR?

The answer to the above is a big part of getting us to the position we found ourselves in. Then SISU took over and thought they could take everyone on and win. They tried to batter everyone with constant court cases. And not a lot has changed since. And it seems like that is why we are now playing in Birmingham.

Yes there are others to blame. But most of the rest was caused by others not being willing to be steamrolled by SISU.

Announcing your every intention in public isn't a good negotiating tactic.
But keeping your dwindling fan base in the dark indefinitely isn't a smart move either.

Not to keep opening the same can of worms, but while the rent was shocking, there were options. For example, would it have cost less to keep paying it while we built a stadium? That’s maybe £3m or so down the drain, but in the end will we have lost more (not to mention loss of good will) from the stadium moves?

Could we have better negotiated a deal? Was it smart to sour relations with the council first? Could the PR campaigns have been better used asking for a better deal rather than trying to get the Ricoh through legal means?

We sold HR. We failed to finance the Ricoh. We pawned our share in ACL. We broke our tenancy. We created the environment for Wasps. We filed with the EC to prevent talks.

There comes a time to take it on the chin and own up to your responsibility in a situation. Where Wasps play is up to their fans. Who they do business with is up to their owners. Third parties don’t owe us a living.
