Watching Godden tonight him & Hiwula seemed to have a connection both very clever with their movement scored 30 goals between them last season at league 1 level.Godden’s hold up play and touch he can easily play that target man type role while being quick enough to run in behind when needed.I seen him tonight continuously out jump their 6ft plus defenders winning more headers in 60 mins than I’ve seen Baka win since he’s been here.I think the 442 would favour Jobello more he seems to be a out and out winger rather than I right sided forward in the 433 whipping early crosses into the box.Maybe let Shipley play left midfield playing narrow how Bayliss did when he came in at league 2 in his first season if not maybe draft in a left winger who could beat a man or maybe even Kastanner,Weather we get chance to see this system happen who knows but looking at it tonight you could really see something like that working & getting more from Hiwula,Godden & Jobello.

Enough of the formation obsession. We’ve played 3 games ffs. Let the manager do his job, he isn’t going to abandon a formation he played all preseason just yet so quit fussing about it.

Yes I'd like to see him continue with a system that means we struggle to score goals for another season before he recognises the bleeding obvious.

I'd just download an exploit formation some Chinese lad has made and walk the league, job done.

Think we took the foot off second half with an eye on Saturday too tbh, 433 looked very effective first half yesterday, the fullbacks were bombing forward as they should and worked well

No, stay as we are with the 433. It’s evolving still, players adapting to system, each other... etc. It’s coming together.

Only your usual in game tactical or positional changes are possibly required from any starting blueprint.

It’s to early to think about a change

To be fair to him though whilst we may not like it he has been fairly successful with it this season. With the help of competent officials he would have played 3 win 3.

1. We didn’t play 4-3-3 last season.
2. We have a lot of new players, can hardly compare with last season.
3. We scored at least 2 against Bolton, plus a penalty or two.

1, I didn’t say we did, but we did play a system that left a lone striker unsupported.
2, you could have 11 new players, but if you lack creativity, and don’t support your centre forward, the end result will be a lack of goals.
3, unfortunately the ref didn’t agree.

Hopefully the arrival of Godden and the return to fitness of Allen will solve the problems in the final third, and it will take a few games yet, before we’re playing at 100%.

I’m holding judgement on the best formation until we hear from Philosoraptor
