Is he a central midfielder? We do need to sign another CM imho if we're going to persist with three in midfield

Is he better than what we have, that’s the point. Unless he comes straight into the team like Thomas did last season don’t see the point. Haven’t seen a lot of Westbrooke I’d say he was an eight out of ten v Southend, six out of ten v Bolton.
Is it better to let him develop.

I think if we are going to play 3 in the middle then we need more than just the 4 players to cover those positions.

And, yes, he'd probably be ahead of Shipley and Westbrooke.

When he played against us for Liverpool U23 he reminded me a bit of Lee Trundle.

I don't know why.

If we are not wanting to challenge the top 10 then yes, let him develop. He is a very average league one player who is a step down from Bayliss. A midfield including Shipley and Westbrooke is a mid table midfield at best....
Not seen a competitive Allen yet but we are short of quality depth in midfield, especially from a creative point of view.

Think that’s very harsh on Westbrooke might be wrong but I think Southend was his first full first team game where he played 90 minutes, fucking hell he scored the winner.you are entitled to your view it’s rather a knee jerk imo your view though is typical though.

He's absolutely class, would be a great signing and make a huge difference to the starting line up. Obviously blocks off Westbrooke, but he's too good to ignore, and if available, we should get him.

Think it might depend on those advising him. If he sees/is told about the way over the last few seasons we have helped progress the careers of loans like Bright, Kent, Thomas, Murphy, Armstrong etc as well as developing our own young talent like Wilson, Maddison and Baylis, he just might look at CCFC as a way of furthering his own career.

Anyone’s got to be better than Shipley to be honest

He is a step down from Bayliss, no shame in that as Bayliss is very talented.
