Ccc might get the fine which could be substantial, wasps repay the calculated state aid and are given very little time to do it

That is if ccc lose of course. It is not a foregone conclusion that they will.

It's not even confirmed it is being investigated yet is it?

If it found that the European State Aid law has been broken then its the CCC that has to pay the fine not the WASPS. So all this shenanigans from them is for and on behalf of the CCC not to protect the WASPS

If it’s found to be state aid, surely wasps will have to pay it back else what’s the point ?

Why would Sisu persue a court case where at best CCC has to pay a fine and at worst it costs them money in costs

Nor i doubt it will be. What gets me is that just when Sisu had the chance to negotiate a deal with Wasps they went and slipped the complaint to the EU knowing full well that this would end talks about a Ricoh deal. Many a time is this saga just when things seem to be going well they go and do something to upset whoever they are dealing with. They run my club and a right mess they have made so far.If they are reading any of the forums they would see how much upset it causes Just for a fraction of time try looking at the fans side of things

As for OP.

If I was renting an office and then tried to reduce my rent by refusing to pay, breaking my lease and then moving to a different city saying I didn’t even want to be in those offices and my business wouldn’t be profitable if I brought them. Then the office owner rented them out to someone else at a decent deal because the office is pretty bespoke and not many will fit it, I think I’d be a ducking adult and accept my gamble backfired and I’ve fucked myself.

If I then repeatedly lost legal challenges and was told at every turn my case was laughable.

I’d probably swallow my pride and find a new office or accept I fucked up and will have to accept the new status quo.

I wouldn’t piss and moan and drag up shit on the office owners and anyone who works for or has ever talked to them and the new company.

Because I’m not a fucking child.
If this is what you would have done I say fair enough and it's definatily an option. However, there is clearly an option to challenge the way things were handled and I can see why that's a viable option to peruse too. If the EC rule against SISU then and only then is it the end of the road for that angle of enquiry but not until that point. Finally no one on here really knows how much or little state aid may have been involved and on that basis probably should not be too firm in their beliefs. I choose to trust SISU, a risk managed hedge fund, to have calculated if this legal action is worth taking. Rather than quitting and saddling the club with huge debts to build a stadium when there is still a.chance we can get ours back.

You do realise the club is saddled with enough debt to have built a stadium?

If the complaint was made in February, according to the timescales some sort of direction would have already been made by the EC

Considering they get zero blame for a situation entirely of their own making, I’d say all over the fucking place.

I’d also say your desperate need to jump in whenever someone says something bad is pretty telling.
Not un-blaming them (for want of a better word) just trying to understand their decision making over the past few years and the OP has given a good explanation of where he feels it went wrong for SISU, where they made mistakes, or where the council have screwed them over.

I think he makes a few good points and his view is arguably possible with the known facts.

I'm pretty sure SISU haven't gone down that route just to get someone punished, I think they know that somewhere down the line a case could be opened up to initiate more legal action to gain them compensation.
What annoys me is that SISU could be doing this in Spite as i dont think they would get F all out of it apart from the fact WASPs go tits up and even then they are not gauranteed to be given the option to take them out of receivership?

Very well said shmmeee,
Sisu are cunts that gambled and lost.
The council are cunts because they put personal opinion and pride ahead of the interests of the people of coventry, their proud club, and it’s history and traditions.
Wasps are cunts as they are purely selfish cuckoos shiting in a sky blues nest.

The state aid complaint is not about how much. That comes much later if at all. The value to sisu is not about the prosperity of ccfc but the return on investment to the investors they are agents for.

To summarise currently ccfc get a share of any legal claims once the following are cleared
Sbs&l 28m
ARVO 14m and growing by over 1.5m pa
Preference shares in otium 65m plus accumulated dividends
New loans to cover playing out of Coventry last time 6m pa

At the end of which it is very likely that ccfc will not even own the stadium, it will be in a separate company

Wasps may have gone bust by then. Ccc may lose the state aid case

Of course ccc may not lose which will leave our club will eye watering amounts of debt and no where to play in Coventry

The only thing you can trust in is that sisu have calculated a high risk strategy to the benefit of sisu but are prepared to lose as well as win. If it suited sisu for ccfc to go bust it would happen in a heartbeat. Assuming sisu are still in control of the strategy of course

Every right to challenge in the EC but it is not about ccfc and never has been. It is cold hard high risk investment strategy.

In those circumstances the scenarios do not come close to understanding what is going on.

That said I would agree you are perfectly entitled to see it your way and I have no problem with that. I just see it differently without engineering scenarios

The penny dropped years ago .....
