If City lose
AND
Bristol win

then, were relegated to the 3rd tier of English Football.

Millwall are now officially safe.

Maybe they will not now play with the same intensity.

I think Milwall will beat us to be honest. If they take the game to us I don't think we could cope - especially if we have to field more kids.

Well this is the clubs chance to shine- make it a fiver a head for the last two home games/ do what Bristol did, and show some fight and desire!

What about barnsley?
They are 7 points clear but play hull away then bristol away then brighton at home sooo?
A possibility of only picking up a point?

Think Bristol will be 3 clear by the last game of the season. Which means we've gotta win against Southampton. Even if they are have got nothing to play for I still can't see us winning and Bristol loosing against Burnley.

Apologies...'ifs' again I know.. but... the best case scenario now means that we will need a point at St Mary's... if we pick up 6 points from the next two games? and Bristol lose their next two games.... we'd be 2 points ahead.. which means a draw at St Marys would be needed.. or to match the Bristol result on the same day at Burnley i.e they lose we can lose...*assumes no massive swings in goal difference.
Squeaky bum time as somebody once said....

Going to hard for kids to shine though isn't it, thrown into such crucial games. Clarke went off injured and AT said Christie looks particulary bad as he went home on crutches. That now means having to throw Jordan Willis in and probably having a defender from the academy on the bench.

Not looking at all good. Wouldn't surprise me now if we just crumble under the weight of the expectation alongside the mounting injuries. Carry on like this and come Southampton it could be a half a team making their debuts for us.

And all you can say about West Ham is that they should be in with a good shout of beating Bristol.

They do seem to have found their shooting boots of late, having scored in their last 3 games, 6, 3 and 4.

West Ham victories just make the scrap for second place even more likely to go to the last day.....

Bristol will also go to Burnley on the last day (who will have nothing to play for, and didn't look great today) which is an easier game than Southampton away...a team with a strong home record and in need of a result.

Whichever way we look at it, there is one game less to play, with Bristol having got over a tougher game than we had....and the points gap is still 4 points. I think we all expected them to lose today, if we are being honest.

Forget the Southampton game for the moment....we need a win on Tuesday....it really is as simple as that. Even a draw is not good enough....and judging by the walking wounded, our team sheet will be interesting. Let's hope Millwall have given up now that they are safe.

I think that's the one we are nailed on to win. They were shit when they needed to win and will be even worse IMO next Saturday with sod all to play for.

ITs so wierd the dynamics that could rest on the Saints game ,they're up can relax play with freedom ,whip us or go through the motions after partying, they need something and could destroy us or feel the massive pressure of missing out ,they do seem to be bottling a bit at the moment

they do seem to be bottling a bit at the moment

That made me laugh....a team on 82 points, +34 GD, 2 defeats in 16 league games, have beat us twice this season at home (once with a reserve/youth team)...and they are 'bottling it'.

I think they are viewing us as the 3 points they'll need to secure promotion...and the fixture that West Ham are rueing they have on the last day!!!

Getting swept up in my own positivity LBB ,reading it back it has made me chuckle with your analysis ,However should'nt we be getting Carl Baker back for the last three as he said on legends dayLOL

I agree. If there is one game we are going to win you would have to think Donny.

I think the Millwall game will be very, very tough.

No problem, Wingy...I really admire any CCFC fan who is trying to be positive in these dark days...I really do. If some of the players/management had your belief mate, we wouldn't be where we are. Fair play to you, mate.

Especially if 3 or 4 players from today are missing, Otis. I'm hoping that Millwall are de-mob happy on Tuesday.

One post-er made a good point about pressure...I hope this doesn't get through to the players....we need the first goal.

If Bristol get anything out of their game, then we have had it. Even a win for us would leave us 2 points adrift with 2 left to play..and then probably needing a win at Southampton...which IMO is very unlikely.

I know we have all got many of the predictions wrong of late for all the teams down there, but I really cannot see Bristol beating West Ham. A win for West Ham on Tuesday could put them in the top 2 and their away form is very good.

Think Bristol have been riding their luck a bit lately, both at Forest and Brum, with real backs to the wall performances and being under siege. Just can't see it keep going for them. They've had a bit of lady luck and that I think is due to expire.

I have just spoken to a Blues fan and he said that upto the first Blues goal, Bristol were the better team. However, it seems that they defended well, and a draw was a fair result.

Having said that, has any team really impressed us/turned us over this season??

If my gran had bollocks she would of been my grandad.will we stay up no fucking chance Bristol two goals up at brum just shows they are fighters and we are not. So they will get more points than us last 3games simple

Agreed coop....do you think they are on the bus home this evening in a better frame of mind than they were this morning after a point at Blues?

I think they will be.

More importantly, do you think our walking wounded/threadbare squad will be more or less encouraged after today's results?

I'm glad we are still in ''if'' mode rather than the quite ludicrous ''that's it then, we are down'' comments that litter
the match threads. Some started when there was seventy minutes of the match left!

If if if if if if if if if if if if if if if if if if if

All the best

Of course it is still 'if' at this stage, Torchy....and you are right that 'mid-match' threads of 'we are down' are foolish.

However, I had nearly given up after last Monday...and tonight we are no nearer safety....in fact a little further away due to one less game and still 4 points adrift...with a mounting injury list.

The 4 point gap must be reduced on Tuesday...or that is it as far as I am concerned.
