Experienced, looks like a tough lump. Like the look of this deal. Could turn out to be a great bit of business this.

Quotes form Clough interview on him leaving...
"Kyle is one of those whose contract was a carry-over from the Championship as well, albeit reduced.
"We've now got to settle into the realities of life in League One.
"He helped keep us in the Championship and I think he has been good value for that time."

ill be honest and say I didn't really get too excited as didnt know much about him. but sounds like a player by all accounts, and I guess we must be going at it with a decent budget too. His fans seemed to think he could have even gone back to championship

Similar to, if not better than Ben Turner? Opinions?

Great bit of news, well chuffed with this signing.
If we can get a decent keeper and right back in pronto I can see season ticket sales taking off. (When they can be arsed to sort out where were fucking playing of course)

he has a high standard to live up to - centre back was our strength last year, and because of injuries you need three good ones. So Hyam, this guy and ?????

This had me slightly concerned re. his wages and age, but at 32 and a reliable player (lack of injuries and a lot of playing time), hopefully he'll be good, but I won't pass judgment on him just yet until he's had a few games in Sky Blue.

That suggests we're paying a very decent wage

I’m with vow. And when I have seen him play and he has proved my initial response way off the mark I will either stick to my guns even though the evidence is overwhelming or I will deny I ever said those things in the first place. Either way I will look a complete and utter tit.

Looks like we're trying to get more ball playing defenders in. Looks good for the football we'll be playing next year.

Pleased with that and that we've got it done early. Already the oldest player in the squad. Slight concern over the pace of a pairing like him and Hyam, but hopefully should be pretty solid. Just got to see who will be outside them. LB's look a bit shaky defensively and only Hickman at RB thus far, who's also quite attack minded (RWB).

How quick is Rose? Anyone know? Could robins experiment with three at the back?

I like this signing. We need experience in the team and he’s scored a decent amount of goals for a defender which bodes well because Willis and Hyam didn’t score enough from set pieces.

It’ll be sad to see Willis go, but he earned that move to the Championship and it gives us a chance to try new things.

We have to be pleased with this, perhaps potential captain material ? Has to pass the tough Grendel test though. Also perhaps this in its way answers the will we or won’t we be at the Ricoh question.
