If you're of a slight rugby-bent and not undertaking the long haul to the frozen north tomorrow, remember Cov take on Nottingham at the BPA for their final homer of the season.
There's a bit going on besides the match too:
Quote:
We are all set for tomorrow to take on Nottingham in the last home game of the season! With only four points separating us, we strive to bounce back from our last home game and secure an emphatic win this weekend.
This has been such an exciting season back in the Championship and we are very grateful for all your support. So much so, that we will be running many exciting things in the Fans Village to celebrate our last home game. There will be a Prosecco & Gin bar set up for all you wine and gin enthusiast. Face painting for the kids to enjoy and Oddballs will have their stand with the new Coventry Rugby branded underwear for everyone. To end the day of we will also have the return of Soul Junction band who are massive supporters of the club.
With a plethora of exciting things for tomorrow, be sure to get down to the Butts and let’s make this Saturday a day to remember! It’s going to be a fun filled day and we want you to be a part of the action! To get your tickets phone 024 7623 1001 or come down to the ticket office. We look forward to seeing you there!

If you fancy it, KO is at 3pm, but please be aware that parking will be more limited on site than usual (so maybe park in the multi-storey next door or walk up from the Skydome/Ikea if arriving late-ish?). It'd be good to get a proper good turnout to help cheer Cov to the points they need to make them mathematically safe.
Great beer and cider in the Broomfield too!

I went to the game today, a pity about the result (losing with the last kick of the game in the last second), and the officials were pretty rubbish. Richmond result meant that Cov were safe, irrespective of the score, but the 2 bonus points are some (scant) consolation. Good sized crowd of 2,802 hopefully swelled the coffers. And I bought some new underwear...Oddballs underwear for testicular cancer, so gentlemen remember to check yourself down there.

I found it funny/interesting how in his speech before the game, the Lord Mayor John Blundell was commenting about the European City of Sport but was emphasising how it was Cov RFC that was the city’s Rugby club...obviously a dig at wasps and it got some good cheers.

All in all, barring the result, it was a good day and I will definitely be going a number of times next season. If CCFC do end up groundsharing as seems most likely, and you want to be saved from being dragged around shops, doing DIY or seeing relatives on a Saturday afternoon next season, I do recommend taking in a game or several...oh and the beer is reasonably priced

Not to undermine what Cov are doing, which is brilliant, and it’s great that they’ll be in the Championship next season, but I was in Gloucester yesterday.
Gloucester RFC were at home to Bath, their biggest match of the season, and I was impressed with the enormous buzz around the ground pre-match. Definitely nothing like the middle class toffs that go to W*sps. Proper rugby, like Cov needs to get back to.

Glawster are great. Fantastic ground, full of knuckledraggers, especially in the shed.
Proper rugby club.

Hasn't changed then ! Went there a very very long time ago and it was full of partisan supporters of a working class nature. As said above, a proper club with a hostile atmosphere to their opponents

Agree with all that but................and this isn't the first time this season.............the staff are utterly shite now behind that bar, they must be costing the club money. No sense of urgency, poorly trained, amateur !!

One of the reasons I don't drink in the JS Bar tbh. It seems to be impossible for them to get/(crucially) retain decent staff.
Never used to be like that at CR with Stan in charge!

Must say i thoroughly enjoyed my day at CRFC, but i usually do :) Pity about the result, CRFC should have closed the game out. That said i was far from impressed by the referee and assistants. Safe in the Championship and already building for next season cant complain at that. :emoji_clap::emoji_thumbsup:

You weren't the only one unimpressed by the reffing 'team' (questionable term).
The Cov DoR was absolutely bloody livid!
