897 minutes played over 26 matches

Total 9.96 full matches

5 goals 3 assists

Not bad at all really , and I feel like he is getting better with game time and does a lot of work that goes unnoticed , thoughts ?

Think he will be better next season ?
Would we get away with having a prolific striker playing off him next season ?

He’s utter shite

harsh , don’t agree think he’s been a big part of our recent good form

No I think he’s shocking. He’s laboured, shows no strength or desire at all, has no pace or power

I think we would be stuck in a he’s shite , I don’t agree battle here lol .

I think it’s no coincidence we’ve been on a good run of form with him in the side , wins a lot of headers , gets the ball down relatively well and hiwula appears to enjoy playing off him .

I’m suggesting as he’s still pretty young he would benefit from more game time and would chip in with 15 goals in a full season

A prolific striker playing off him could see a 40 goal partnership

No desire?
He bust a gut getting in to position for both his goals at Charlton.
He showed desire to get across the keeper Tuesday.
I can think of several other examples though at times he does look as though he could do more but you could say that about every striker we've had in the last few years with the exception of Mcnulty and Armstrong.
If we did fluke a promotion though I couldn't see him making that step up at the moment.

Of course it’s a coincidence - we won 5 in a row at one point earlier in the season - why was that then?

I'm willing to give him more time, but Grendel is right about the lack of pace and strength.

His first touch can be poor at times too.

He's shown glimpses of what could possibly be, but for a big bloke he doesn't show much muscle or power in tussles with defenders.

Bit of a mixed bag for me I would say.

That is complete rubbish. He clearly has strength and pace and shows desire when battling defenders while playing the target man type role.

On Tuesday night he got outmuscled at times.

Of course he did. He battling against burly defenders who’s job is to defend and muscle him of the ball. If he came out on top every time he’d be playing in the league above, wouldn’t he?

I don’t understand why people expect our players to be successful with every touch of the ball and every encounter on the pitch.

You do realise it’s a game between other people trying to achieve the same outcome for their side and is competitive by nature?

I’d like to see Chaplin and Bakayoko have a few games at some point, as I think they’ll make an interesting partnership.

That said, Chaplin needs to offer something off the bench to get a look in.

He has none of those attributes - it’s you who is talking rubbish

He is a defenders dream and a joke footballer

Interesting in what way

If a highlight shows him outpacing a defender will you concede that he has pace?

No-one said anything about every ball and every encounter.

It was just a deduction on his general play.

No player is going to win every challenge, or indeed, lose every challenge. Doesn't matter if they are Roy Keane, Van Dijk, or Kante.

That theory surely doesn't work if the player he is outpacing has even less pace than he has.;)

No Adebola but a decent team player to have in the squad ..... and doesn’t deserve the disrespectful joke footballer label.

Presumably the definition of pace is being able to outrun those you are playing against?

Errm....so if there's two very, very slow players and one very slow player is just slightly quicker than the other very slow player, he is deemed to have pace?

Okay.

Bakayoko scores an average of 1 every 2 games according to those stats.

SISU will sell him....

He’s got pace relative to the others. At what point would you say a player has pace?
