Southampton fans caught making Emiliano Sala Cardiff City taunts

No excuse for being distasteful but is anyone else confused by the grief and overly sentimental reaction from players and fans who didn’t know the player. Do we not have enough shit in our own lives to grieve that we wait for famous people around us to suffer to release it all?

I don’t understand

They’ve had a minutes silence at 2 games so far, there’ll be another when the funeral takes place.
It’s 2019. This is now how we do things apparently.
Due to the way fixtures fell, some clubs had 4 silences/applauses for Fabrice Muamba, and he didn’t even die.

Me and you both.

Could understand it so much more if he was one of Cardiff's top players, or had been at the couple for a couple of years, but the bloke didn't even play a single game for them, so yes, it is way over the top and the amount of coverage and supposed grief has devalued the poor man's death unfortunately.

It's become a bit of a circus.

Indeed. Watched match of the day this morning. They cut to the crowd during the minutes silence, and there was a fella who looked like he was crying.
You can understand the outpouring from Nantes, because they actually knew the guy and saw him play week in, week out.

Exactly.

It's almost as if they have looked at Nantes really grieving and thought well he's our player now, we have to match it.

It's even worse when they then do it but post it to social media to tell everybody they have done it.

Then hassle others as to why they aren't grieving (is demanding their club does something for it)

But that happens in every day life too unfortunately. :(

Luckily it's not all over the papers and TV though.

Yeah they are pricks as well.

Once went to a party somebody else was at 20 years ago and they have died. Let's hit Facebook with some slogans in images or go on about them being with the angels now.

I saw the half and half Cardiff and Nantes scarves with. Sala's face in the middle. How opportunistic.

They'll have a blue plaque put up on the house he lived in, in France next and all the Cardiff fans will be going on holiday to Nantes to pay pilgrimage.

The sad thing is that so many people have become so reliant on social media and the subsequent attention they get from it to feed their own self worth and ego (i.e getting likes etc on their pictures). These big news events seem to bring these narcissistics out of the woodwork and its hard to tell who the genuine ones are. P.s could you all like post please?

First I need to look up narcissistic.

Be right back.

Unless I happen to pass a mirror of course. If so I could be quite some time.

It's all OTT. However the way how the agent has behaved is despicable. It highlights some major problems in the system.

Remember being at a home match soon after George Best had died. There was a minute's applause which was all that was needed. I was with my dad and brother and felt the bond that football fans can feel when a great player has died. This seemed more fitting than all the outpouring of grief which seems to be the way nowadays.

Wasn’t Best’s death the start of the ‘applause’ if I remember rightly?

What’s happened cj?

There’s a text message or email conversation that has been disclosed where Sala said he didn’t want to leave no matter what the pay was as he was happy living where he was and wanted a quiet life. The reply was pretty much tough luck you’re going.
