Announced to present the oscars.

Somebody finds something he posted online 10 years ago that was offensive to LGBT.

He now isn't presenting the oscars.

Social media is far too powerful with things like that.

What did he say, was it actually offensive or is it the usual over reaction?

Odd place America. You get uproar over something like this and a change made within hours, go round shooting people and that's no problem.

What I don't get is that Ricky Gervais hosted them I think? It's not as if he hasn't told offensive jokes.

And as Gervais has said on twitter they nominated Mel Gibson last year. He's hardly got a history clear of controversy.

I reckon it must just be if somebody has upset somebody else in the industry then they go all out with things like that. It sounds a bit like the bloke from Guardians of the Galaxy but I don't know much about that one but the cast from the film all seemed to be supportive of him.

People seem far too easily offended now. I'd respect them more if they stood up and said this is the decision and if you're not happy then don't watch.

Its got to make you laugh, Roman Polanski won his Oscar he got a standing ovation, you know the one, the convicted peado who was on the run in another country at the tine.

There's an exclusion clause for film directors and Catholic priests.

From what I have read, the producers told him to apologise which he then refused, as 3 years ago he did an interview on the topic and explained it was a joke, and that he wouldn't repeat the joke now as it isn't era appropriate, so then he was asked to leave the show.

He is right though. He isn't homophobic, he was just taking the piss, and a load of pussies have now gone onto cry about it. Pisses me off.

He has already put himself forward, he tweeted “Dear cunts in charge of The Oscars, let me host your show, and I promise I won’t offend anyone. Not even Mel Gibson, who you nominated last year.”
