I think they should have the green light, as long as they deploy it properly.

They can't go round just ramming into people, but the footage I have seen just seems to be then coming up behind them and giving them a bit of a bump to knock them off.

Sounds entirely reasonable to me. If you are worried about head injuries and breaking some bones don't steal a moped!

They're fair game in my eyes, once you commit a crime then you lose all rights, they should be stopped by any means necessary.
Yup. It's not like the perpetrators are showing any kind of care or consideration for the victims and will gladly lash out at them and threaten them with knives.

Behave in such a fashion and you deserve to be treated with disdain and the full force of the law.

Agree they are fair game but you know its a lawsuit waiting to happen and some scumbag will end up with a fortune.

Watch any of the police shows on TV and you'll see them catch people red handed only for the voiceover at the end to tell you there weren't charged or were found not guilty. What happens now when someone's been knocked off and injured and then doesn't get charged or isn't found guilty?

They reverse over them! I had it happen, the lad went away in ambulance after he crashed into me. Police said they couldn't prove who was riding it and got away with it. No helmet, not road legal, no insurance, no mot

There was one on TV where they pulled over a car with 2 people in and there was a gun on the floor on the passenger side. Claimed they didn't know it was there and nobody got charged!

This was the subject of some debate on Radio 2 over the weekend, and some of the arguments against it were just ludicrous. They might get hurt. So bloody what, they might get hurt? Maybe don't go out and intentionally commit a crime then? If you make a decision to go out and break the law, then you can have no complaint when the full force of that law is bought against you.

The thought occurs that it would probably be the same people who would then moan the Police don't do anything when they get escape.

Interestingly they had a few calls or texts from serving coppers. It was certainly interesting hearing their views on the subject.

Too much political correctness and paperwork and health and safety assessments to go through that stop the police doing their job effectively. Then the Constant budget cuts on top.
