Apparently a toddler has been abducted in Brighton. Helicopters been out looking, CCTV shows a man with a little girl.

Police however saying nothing has happened.

Hopefully a strange hoax and there's nobody in danger. Parent's worst nightmare.

Oh, so nobody has formally reported it it's just eye witness?

How do they know the kid wasn't with him in the first place?

There must be something in it for the amount of police they have thrown at it.

No child reported missing yet though.

Could be just police contingency in operation.

Who doesn't notice their kid gone though?

On the other hand, why would they have helicopters out?

I suppose if the caller was adamant the police would be on it straightaway, imagine if it was genuine and the Police didn’t react for a couple of hours til a child’s reported missing and it came out they’d known well before, the Police would be slated!

Just seen this - Girl in Brighton 'child abduction' found after dad tells police he's man in CCTV

It was a bloke with his daughter. What a waste of time and resources that was.

The dad said the girl was reluctant to leave, with a 3 year old myself I know that situation all too well!
The times I’ve carried him out the shop and he’s having a paddy I’ve never been challenged which in a way is not surprising but shows people wouldn’t step in if a kid was being taken out of a shop, one of those very awkward situations!

Better a waste of resources now, than searching for a child's body later.

Unless it's a malicious hoax or an act or gross stupidity I've no real problem with erring on the side of caution here.

I guess so, it was more to the extent with helicopters etc.
