Have pretty much sold their 2000 allocation and have been given 2000 more. Will be interesting to see if the new scoreboard limits their allocation to 5000.

I'm surprised they haven't started trolling this site yet. Suppose there's plenty of time yet.

Should be fun when it starts

Just need to work a way out to make the game kick off 15 minutes late.

Alright lads, Sunderland fan here, looking forward to visiting your fine city in a couple of weeks.
Will I be able to get a train after the game from Coventry arena up to Nuneaton?
Or maybe walk past Tesco's and catch a bus, if its quicker?
Cheers.

No trains on match days unfortunately. Bus yes, but if you're wearing colours a taxi possibly the best option. I wish I could say it will be fine and people won't get involved if you keep yourself to yourself but there'll always be some dickhead and we have our share.

Thanks for the info mate. Don't wear colours so no problem there.
Bus it is then, number 48? and is the traffic likely to delay the bus much?

Yeah, looked on google maps and thought, what a good idea, a station right alongside the stadium.
Then someone said the trains don't run on matchdays:emoji_relaxed:, you couldn't make it up..
They do have trains unfortunately you have to wait until an hour after the game has finished.
They still only have 2 carriages so can't accomodate sports fans yet.
Differant gauge tracks to the normal ones I believe

Trains do run on match days.
One arrives on Saturday from Cov at around 2:45.
Other than that I know nothing, but surely there are timetables on the internet (I was going to say on-line but thought better of it)

trains do run. 42 minutes past the hour to the Arena and 28 minutes past the hour back to Coventry.
About £3.30 return. 10 minute journey. You'll be fine wearing colours as well if it takes your fancy.

Got 2 tickets yesterday, as I live in Nuneaton I’ll probably have a few pints in the local as I don’t recall seeing any pubs near the RICOH whenever I’ve drove past, I’ll then get my mrs dad to drop us off.

Friendly advice but steer clear of the Wheatsheaf..Dhillions brewery has a bar 5mins from the ground on the industrial estate where away fans are welcome. The Greyhound along the canal 25min walk is a good real ale pub.Hoping there's no trouble but there are dickheads on both sides that will be sadly looking for it.

Shouldn't really be tanked up with a 12.30 ko, but then again, it's a long trip from the NE, with not much else to do to pass the time.

Sunderland fan in peace here! (For the record the Jimmy Hill thing was 13 years before I was even born and is no interest to me:banghead:)

Excited for my first ever visit to the Ricoh as I don't get to many away games and looking like a good turnout! I'm travelling in on the day from Leamington Spa as I'm making a bit of a weekend of it visiting an old uni mate who's based there now. Any recommendations for pre match pints for away fans?

Good luck for the rest of the season (barring our games of course) would be nice in an ideal world to have us, you and Pompey back in the higher divisions where we belong and get some of the tin pot dross like Brighton, Bournemouth, Middlebrough etc back down in these leagues.

PS. On a side note the smb forum is well known for being one of the most backward forums out there so I wouldn't like to think anyone thinks that place is representative of Sunderland fans. I noticed you've spotted resident embarrassment Hank Williams who has an obsession with Coventry:hungover: expect similar soon from the likes of Eddie Hitler and HongKongPhooey. A lot of the people who actually go to games are banned from that forum anyway so expect any of them giving the big one to be sat watching a stream in their terrace.

With a huge away following, best bet for a drink is in the city centre. Not many pubs will allow away fans near the ground.

The casino under the stadium should let away fans in.

Really ? As I said I haven't been to the Ricoh before but thought home fans only pubs were a thing of the past? Cheers for the advice though

not many pubs in the vicinity is the problem.
Casino probably your best bet then there's the hotel bar in the Ricoh itself.
Dillions Brewery on the estate at the back is worth a visit. We'll be meeting up with some Mackem mates and we'll probably be in there or the casino post match.
