From the toll bar -Festival island. Big queues about 12pm today. Two incidents involving about 8 cars within the space of 800 yards. Speed limit is 50mph but everyone does at least 60. I hate speed camera's but....

But it is
Wasn't an issue to me at all
55 was the depressing one.

On the subject of the crash
The layout since the alterations doesn't help in my opinion
Is it two slip roads down on to the carriageway now ?
Then the exit for the A45
All within little more than half a mile
I tend to struggle there with being in the correct lane ,it involves a lot of observation and lane switching.

50 feels too slow down there and when I do 50 (which is all the time honest ref) there is always someone right up my arse.
But it's 50 for a reason and people speeding REALLY piss me off, especially when I've got my son in the car.

I'd genuinely have speed cameras everywhere, people moan about them being a money maker etc, but don't speed. It's very simple. Can't wait for people to get done battering it up Ansty road and now I've moved Broad lane. It's a 30 down there but the average speed seems to be 45.

While I'm at it if you actually drive the ring road correctly and get in the right hand lane when it's not your exit there's always an Audi up your arse then as well. I hate driving.

If ever a road needed variable speed limits, it's that one. In quiet times 70 is fine, but rush hour and 50's more appropriate.

Never get how on the runup to festival island, so many change laes at the last minute. There's bloody signs all the way along from Tollbar, so not like you haven't been warned!

Inside lane for A46 then about 100yds from exit also an exit for A46 but you might have to stop at r'bout. So middle lane for A45/A46 and outside lane for A45 only.

Just keep touching your break pedal. They normally panic when they see break lights on and then sit back. I also give the middle finger sometimes.

I am not a slow driver. But there is a time and place for speed. Road conditions and locality the main ones.

What pisses me off the most is being stuck behind someone doing 40 in a 60. Then when you come to a village or other 30mph limit they continue at 40.

I really think I've missed my calling as traffic police, I'd be a proper jobsworth taking everyone down. No indication at a single-lane roundabout, you're in the stocks. Encroaching on another space in a supermarket car park, you're wearing a sandwich board for the day that says you're a dickhead. I don't care if it's private land sir, I AM ABOVE THE LAW

The worst are those who do 45 when it's national speed limit and then carry on doing 45 through a 30.

Haha just said the same thing myself, didn't see this.

It's better to use your hand break slowly rather than the break pedal, it scares them more :)

Got to mention middle lane drivers and those who sit in the outside lane doing 50 on the m23 - they actually get enraged when people end up undertaking them.

Yes middle lane hogs need to lose their licence until they can pass another test. They cause congestion on motorways. And the worrying thing is why can't they overtake properly. Are they blind or just useless drivers.

The older I get the happier I get.

Can't wait until I am 59 1/2. Then my youngest will be 18. No more work. No more being told what to do. No more having to be somewhere when I could be somewhere better. No more having to make plans on what I want to do around what I have to do.

Went out for a drink with one of my lads last weekend. Just a couple of pints he said.

He went home without telling me at about 2am as he was too pissed to talk

Not planning to grow up until I have to.

Fast approaching 40, still feel like 20 although cannot do handovers anymore
Still a puppy then.

I'm 50 now. When I was a kid 50 was old. Still feel 21 in the head. Put the younger ones to shame sometimes. But some of the old joints are starting to get a bit painful at times. And both my knees click as I stand up.

Not sure if I would pass an MOT.

8 pints of carling? Did you drink to stay sober? :shifty:

Exactly how it goes
I think it possibly coincided with my daughter and grandson moving out that shaped my view at fifty five .

I will be 60 next month and like others the aches and pains appear more often and linger longer than they used to. I had a new right hip 4 years ago and that worked wonders. Life is good and I wouldn’t swap 60 to be 20 again. In my head I can still do all I used to but in reality I can’t quite do all. Spirit willing but flesh is weak.

Always happy to see the kids leave home. And happy to invite them back when needed. Had one move back 3 weeks ago. The younger two are getting to know him better as they have never lived with him before. So that is a bonus.

Know the feeling.

Can't wait to be 60. Will be retired then. Life has always been about looking after kids so far. Eldest 33 youngest 8. 34 and 9 this year. I get my freedom at 60. Will have had kids for 43 years by then :wideyed:

I’m semi retired now....fully in a month. Like you an age range of kids...(youngest 15 and eldest 34) so youngest still with us but an age when we can still do a lot. It’s good regaining some freedom even tho wouldn’t be without them.

Some people think we are mad. But I love having a lively household.

We have 8, 9, 16 and 26 at home. But when I retire we are handing house over to kids and travelling for as long as our health allows. We deserve a few years of doing what we want.

Its just careless driving - you can drive fast and be safe just that some people cant cope - but the correct speed is the appropriate one for the conditions and faster drivers should make this

Oi oi oi was a good lager then cheeky.....Called Black Label in those days.....Loved the adverts too.
Carling is just one big rip off.

Says on the tin that it is 4%. But it is really 3.7%. Brewers have been allowed a tolerance on strength because of EU law. But these days the process is much more accurate.

Tax payable on beer goes up after 3.7%. So they pay less tax yet make you think you are drinking stronger beer. And because of the loophole it is all legal.

Alcohol content of Carling is lower than advertised, owner tells court
Good job i haven't had it for 20 years then.
