4 years ago peope were npt chanting SISU OUT. In that period there has been a recession and people have had to choose how to spend their disposible income wisely. It is all well voting with your feet, but it seems rather fickle for them to demand SISU show more ambition when we are stretched beyond our means even at the moment following large cost cutting. How can we fund ambition without putting the club in danger of going out of business? SISU are not sugar daddies!

How have I been sniping? I have asked very simple questions. And I disagree, some action is not always better than no action. Or do you support SOC protesting at the Olympic games?

To be constructive does not mean blindly support. Being constructive is the act of building something better. Do you not see how SOC addressing these very basic questions can of use to them?

Agreed. But would it not be a fantastic gesture from SOC to answer a few questions to develop a rapport? And as you live far away how do you propose you would then find out about the meeting? This forum and GMK and even the SOC website are ideal forums to share information. SOC chooses not to. If you don't question this poilcy then you are inadvertidly supporting SOC to carry on with their business.

I am not saying a Back the Boys event isn't a positive one. I would love for every away game to be as well supported as Reading. Gary can seemingly run a very good non-profit coach travel organisation. But Gary admitted running the event consumed all of his time. I had hoped Brinner was his partner in crime but it seems Gary is going it alone and organising another Back the Boys event will take even more of Gary's time which is clearly a distraction from the action plan to remove SISU.

And to state again, SOC opposed running a Back They Boys event at the Ricoh vs Barnsley. So the SOC are selective of when they support the players.

Sisu had their chance, we averaged 20000 for the 1st 10 games of their reign and were now down to 13500 average.

So in 4 years the gradual decay of the squad and lack of investment in the team has seen almost 7000 fans disappear from the average attendance and it will get worse while they remain.

This suggests it was the new stadium effect that was the biggest contributor. Similar declines were experienced then for the next two years with the biggest decline this season. Whatever the stats though my initial reaction was to question the 95% are actively opposed to the board. My response was people are generally apathetic either way. You are using attendance decline to support the view yet even the most negative statistic says a decline of 28% since takeover. No one can ever say the loss is entirely due to ownership and as you well know we are now back to the fanbase we had prior being at the Ricoh. I think this is a natural demand curve situation more than anything else.

As for finding out what has gone on at the meetings i have been to 2 and also i sit at the games with a friend who goes to them, so even with a 360 mile round trip for each home game i still can keep intouch with what is going on so if you live close i urge you to go to the meetings, regards.

Duffy, thank you for those stats. I agree, a 28% decline is not unreasonable. I would doubt there are many clubs out there increasing their fan base at the moment due to the increase in televised football and the abillity to stream games via the internet for free.

I agree, 95% of those stay at home fans are not protesting against SISU. They are just not interested. Coventry has never had a large hardcore home following.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I am against going to a meeting, it is just I have been asking questions for a while now and so far I have only been met by a brick wall or abuse from Gary.

Just go to the meetings like i did i bet you dont travel 360 miles to a home game. But my take on what went on was to put as much pressure on sisu to sell if possable and then have a group inplace to hopefully take over the sbt (jans words) and hope that more fans would join so we (i use we as city fans) would try and not let the club get in the state it is in now and see our club that we are proud of get back to were (what i think we all agree) we should be in the prem. So with this please turn up if you say you will go so will i regards

The back the boys day was a well organised one by Gary stubbs,a lot of work was done by Andy Armit he printed off 2000 flyers and organised 1000 balloons,and let's not forget brinner helped give them out one of the reasons the soc isn't talking is because there's not a lot to say,the club aren't talking to anyone sisu have moved offices in London to god knows where so the soc and the trust will find it hard to generate any interest at the moment because there is nothing happening,and to be honest rangers have a big supporters trust and there about as much use to the club as a chocolate teapot and there's one main reason,if you don't have any money then you don't get heard

Thank you for the insignt. But there are flaws in that plan against what SOC seem to be doing. As I have already mentioned, a Back the Boys event is not a protest action. It only eats into Gary's time. So the group at the moment are not applying any pressure. Gary has also admitted he has no idea whether Hoffman is a credible buyer. So even if pressure is applied, who will come in? How will things be different? Surely it is wreckless to go forth with such a campaign without meeting with the alternative buyers?

I am not sure about your statement that we should be in the Premier League? Based on what? Our famous fan base? Excellent youth structure? Stadium - which we do not own? Attractive football? Or just the fact that we stetched our resources too far whilst in the Premier League to create the underlying symptoms to the mess we are in now?

Would I like to be in the Premier League! Damn yes!

the coach firm that was used was johnsons by the way they were 80 cheaper than de courcey so I don't no why you keep saying decourcey and as you said you go away well how could you miss 4 Johnson's coaches and a harry shaw not one decourcey was at reading.

I agree Canley, but you are missing the point. SOC had 6 people at its last meeting and Gary has admitted he was fully consumed in organising the Reading trip. The aim of the group is to remove SISU and not to generate a fan party. Yes, the Back The Boys is great, but with SOC's limited resources, should the group not concentrate on SISU OUT action rather than Back the Boys?

Jan engaged with the fans and press. He put in an effort to lobby the fans for support. Gary is more interested in hunting down SISU's HQ in London.

What exactly are SOC accusing SISU of doing wrong? SISU have done nothing illegal and other owners are also running cost cutting. It is the football environment at the moment.

Even if it has nothing to do with business, we need to show the boys that we still have the support and faith in them, and to spur them on for survival.

Gary has confirmed via Twitter (follow me @PorkyCovvy) that he no longer has anything to do with SOC. He has asked me to liaise with Brinner should I have any further questions.

Gary is a top young man who has worked hard organising the Back The Boys event. He has confirmed he will look to run another one of these events should the demand be there. So if you fancy it i'd advise you to shout up on here, GMK or Twitter.
