Plenty off the CCFC fans who follow us on Twitter are hardly supportive.
Also add many of the correspondents in the CT comments section. Almost as if they are poised for any bad news at CCFC, keyboard at the ready.

The reason was probably every time he played against us when Mick Coop always played him out of the game.
You may have a point there. I saw Bestie 3 times against us twice at Highfield Road and once at Old Trafford. And he was well shackled on the 3 games by our defence. In fact I was disappointed as I'd heard so much about Best I was expecting a masterclass from him. But he was a fantastic player.

George Best disliked us and slagged us off for some reason. Something along the line of " what's the point of Cov City ? " Never found out why he said that !
That's was Rodney Marsh who said that.

Not a patch on our Julian Darby !

Yes. Many years ago, mid 80s I believe a load of Cov boys were in Whitley Bay in the North east, Portsmouth had been playing a north east side that weekend, so they also descended on the place. Long story short there was a big fight and one of Pompey's top boys got seriously hurt.
Since then on at least 2 occasions t, there has been a load of crowd trouble at Highfield Road with Portsmouth fans. It's all to do with the above.
Thought the Whitley Bay incident was in the late 90s

Yes , was very bad in 2002 . it's a shame we bypassed each other this season as Fratton is only 80miles from me. I do like a day out at Pompey.
I was disappointed as well! Just a quick hovercraft trip for me!

There was trouble in 89 at Highfield Rd, after we'd beaten them and sent them down. And then around 2002 when it kicked off at half-time, bloody mental.
I remember the 2002 rumble - they got in the concourse of west terrace. It was ridiculous, fully grown blokes acting like complete muppets.

Rodney Marsh was an arrogant so & so.
George Best was a joke on soccer Saturday, pissed most of the time and only ever Reported
on Man Utd, you could win the game and it would be all about how poor they were.:emoji_angry:
On the other hand I always felt that John Motson had a soft spot for us :)

Motson spoke at Jimmy Hills service at the Cathedral. Great talk and he was a friend of Jimmy's and you could hear the affection not just of his friend but our club too.

Paddy Crerand.... Talksport used to home in on him every time there was anything controversial being mentioned by the media against Manure or 'his beloved' Celtic. Utterly guaranteed, totally biased, angry rant followed. Moron of the highest order...

But Best was rumoured to also dislike us and is on record as saying so.
Surprising really with the big Irish connections to Coventry.
Rodney Marsh quite clearly said on Soccer Saturday that we were in the Premier League (as we were at the time) to make the numbers up, and another pundit stuck up for us and had a go back at him, saying something on the lines of 30+ years in the top division must count for something. I've always disliked Rodney Marsh since that day.

Was that the end where he broke Oggys nose with his knee?

I've glanced it a few times and there really are the worst morons on there, a couple of them omg
Yep, it's looks like they're in their own private club, agreeing with each other but then frothing at the mouth if anyone disagrees with them. I can picture matron coming round every afternoon with their medication and then rounding them up in the white van to make sure they're safely tucked in for the night.

Reminds me of an old ccfc message board:woot:
