A very good side and place to visit.

Yes, they played well in what was a very good game.
I think they timed their peak in form perfectly on the run up to the final.
Wasps probably have a team of better players, but collectively I think Exeter felt they were invincible and as a team unit it probably just gave them that extra edge.

It is a lovely place to visit, had family down there for years. Sadly no longer. My cousin played for their colts/youth before university and then work took him abroad.

I actually listened to cwr while I was in the car and it make me laugh some knob head going on about the city of rugby :emoji_poop:.

They must be gutted at the council as I guess they had arranged for our bus to be re sprayed for the parade.

I think they built the museum around the bus

Fair play to Italia for taking the stick so well. I liked hearing that Haskell was stomping round the pitch looking angry at the end - only as he had previous with some City fans IIRC.

Anyway - fair play to Exeter - want the footie team to win the final tomorrow, too - although I've never been to their ground, so might do next season if they don't go up.

The truth is no one in Coventry seemed to care one way or the other judging by the pubs I've been in tonight. No wasps shirts, discussions or anything.

I saw a couple walking through Keresley with shirts on wanted to wind the window down and laugh at them but just drove on.

Should have asked your mum to do it ?

If my children were in the car they would have, I was surprised to see anybody about I would have thought they would all have been wherever the game was watching you get beat by some pub team.

Exeter are a great team.
Calling them a pub team just shows your ignorance of the game. Nothing wrong with that though.
It was a good match and they deserved it.

I know nothing of the game as it's a nothing game played on the whole by people who were not talented enough or to big to play football. If our landlords weren't playing yesterday it wouldn't even have registered with most people and lots seem happy they have been beaten.

Compare this week to the week leading up to the Check a Trade final. There's no comparison. That shows you the difference between the two clubs.

It wasn't even the lead story in their own local newspaper yesterday.

Wasps represent and play only for wasps. They don't and will never represent Coventry
Just like Wayne Rooney only plays for Wayne Rooney - not Man Utd, hence he is looking at options currently. He isn't thinking about playing second fiddle to help out when the first choice gets injured or banned.

It also shows you the ignorance/stupidity of the council if they honestly believe they could make Coventry the City of Rugby!

And have become a great club!

Disrespecting of pub teams too. The fact is that gauding another team or their supporters from the car is as disgusting & disgraceful as what Milwall fans did at Wembley last week. The equivalent of kicking someone while they're down, like pinching the beggar's cap with a few quid in it.

Not big enough...like Martin Johnson you mean? Virtually all of NZ & a fair chunk of Australia?
Chief Dave got it right - lots of people in Coventry particularly aren't interested in Wasps...hence it didn't register.
Lots of people are pleased with the result because just like with us in '87 - the underdogs beat the money-bags hero's. Again - probably more so in Cov than in say Bristol but generally people will be pleased with the Exeter win

Just emerging from the pit after a long day yesterday making my annual trip to Twickenham sporting my CRFC shirt with pride.

Great game by both sides and ultimately glad for Exeter, they have shown that careful investment and managing expectations and slow development works in sport (if only we could have new owners with that mentality). Mind you had Wasps won I would have applauded them as they really threw everything at it. Not sure where Moffs mates were mind as there were a lot of Wasps fans there yesterday. I wish I had my camera too as I saw one chap in a Wasps shirt with MOFF on the back.... Moff, I hope that wasn't you! :)

I spoke to a few old and new Wasps fans and was surprised that the old ones spoke well of Cov City and have been coming to a few CRFC games. Still pests though!

As for city of rugby, I like the idea, the football team shouldnt be impacted by it directly and although emphasis may be on Wasps I'm sure CRFC can take some good from it. The way I see it those who don't mind rugby might be tempted to go to a game, those that really don't like the sport, and there are quite a few, will never want to go.

Ah yes - my bad on that, although Cyrille Regis, John Terry & hosts of others might disagree. Had they played rugby from an early age they'd have bulked up more earlier & fitted in easily. Matt Dawson & many others aren't huge build so I can't accept the reasoning.

The main point in the mocking, snide baiting of other people, when they're probably feeling quite low already. Does that make you feel good. Do you need that to help you feel good? Bit sad if the answer is 'yes'. If the answer is 'no' then surely it's best to say (or in your case shout from the car window) nothing? So imo you made a good choice.

Yes there were lots of shirt sales and flag sales in local town centres.
Mind you Wasps fans already had theirs .
The papers were full of CCFC news about the upcoming final as well.
Mind you Wasps fans already knew about it.

were you trying to be ironic with the last bit?

Fact is, people go on about city of rugby but nobody really bothered.
