My neice wanted my advice recently for help with a school project she was working on. It was fun she said but she wanted my help as it was about famous people who she would want as guests for a meal ?
The aim was to gather about a dozen famous people alive or dead around the table to discuss things etc and see what these guests had to say. She thought as I was old I'd be able to help ! Anyway I suggested inviting Marilyn Monroe, Einstein, John Lennon, Mohammed Ali, Rocky Marciano, George Best,Laurel and Hardy, and Charles Dickens. She researched my choices and she added Harry Styles and Beyonce as her picks ! She's handing her essay in next week. Who would you have selected ?

My hero Bruce Lee would be first on my list. George Best would be a laugh, Al Pacino or Morgan Freeman from the film world. Churchill would be interesting to meet but don't invite Adolf too...

How about guests who you would never invite ?
Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler, Vlad The Impaler, and Caligula.
Then again you could get Gordon Ramsey to cook the meal and with a bit of luck Vlad dislikes his cooking and impales him on a skewer ! What a result !

That's two of us for Carl Sagan. And yes, I was aware that there aren't enough women on the list - Mary Whitehouse would be a good addition

My young neice wanted to know why I chose dead people ? Told her because we could ask them what the afterlife is like, and as Rocky Marciano and Ali were both here again we could see who would win a fight between them !

to be perfectly honest, there's no one famous I'd invite in front of my family and friends and I'd rather spend the evening with them.

Jeremy Corbyn and Dianne Abbott

They will be shagging their brain cell (not singular by accident) out and I can put Abbotts meal order in the freezer and have free food for a year.

Why would anyone want Hawksbee and Jacobs as guests? Are they still going?
