Anyone heard any rumours recently

I for one welcome our new American overlords and just want any excuse to own a cowboy hat. Even if they're from Chicago.
 
There's a billionaire American looking to buy Pompey. He'll do if they decide to keep supporter ownership.

If they did not add significant value then they would not be used, even if its just to validate a decision which the director or CEO may have already preferred.
If KPMG were involved when SISU bought CCFC then they should have flagged up the high rent as a cause for concern or did they think it was acceptable?

Perhaps I'm being cynical too John, but in my experience of one of those you've mentioned - it's money for old rope. They've come into our firm by blagging powerpoints and bluster to our top people, are getting us to spend a fortune on their tried and trusted methods, but are seriously letting us down because we provide a unique business. In our department alone, they came to us with a plan which we implemented - then had to go back to exactly what we were previously doing because they agreed our method worked better.

I'm not trying to universally poo poo these people, they have their place in the world....but they need to stick to what they know. Like us, there are too many uncertainties in running a football club that catches these so called business experts out.

I've always fancied a bit of management consultancy, seems like a great gig. Like people who train teachers, just turn up, spout bollocks, and be gone before they find out it's snake oil.

This is often true, but the top people at the company should be in better control than wasting money on consultants to do what they should be doing.
BTW, I believe that one of Joy's extended family works for Boston Consulting Group maybe he could give her a few Powerpoints.

Nailed it. The model is to present you with an impressive senior consultant - 'the senior consultant', whose principle aim is to on-board as many bodies as he/she can. The lower value your account, the greater that chance that these 'associate consultants' are straight out of grad-school.

And you're right, the output is presentation, not content. However, they do have some ability in helping you organise and shape up your thoughts - which all helps getting you a bonus from the boss.

Still an outrageous use of taxpayers money mind. But who's counting, not I...
 
In any given sphere of management...the guys who splash the most cash get the newest biggest & best bespoke ideas from consultancies. Everyone else pays for the reputation the said consultancies gain from a success, stupidly think they have got a good deal after negotiating a tough deal - but just get the same shit regurgitated. The only difference is that the provider manipulate the stuff for the individual company...charge less, but have minimal input. Profit margin is much higher...& they repeat the exercise all the way down the food chain

You know the old saying about consultants - "they borrow your watch to tell you the time".
 
Look like its on, my source was with the Hoff at wembley last week and was extremely confident. As for the Butts, he laughed that off as been just ridiculous as a concept.

Oh well my source who is good friends with the Hoff said that the bid went in last Friday, this wasn't a speculative bid as SISu were aware as he had invited Hoff to help find a buyer, IMO SISU want more than its economic value not sure SISU often pay for things / buy companies based on how much the current owners have lost on their investment. My contact seemed so confident as well
 
SISU would certainly sell to Hoffman, he was one of the people I was told was approached when they tried to offload the club about 18 months ago. The issue will be his valuation against theirs.
 
Gutted, not looking for Aramovuich just owners focussed on the club and not on personal / business disputes. With SISU gone we may be able to negotiate with key atakeholders like WASPS CCC and even Higgs - SISu just offer more of the same with no resolution in sight
