Is this bullshit?

Love how it's the club's fault the train companies are apparently overselling tickets.

Can see the station being rammed on Sunday morning though.

There will be carnage if they don't let people on after they have sold tickets.

Too be fair my mate told me exactly the same thing last weekend after his Old Man rang up about train tickets.

I actually for once think it's quite sensible as let's be honest there's going to be a load of people trying to get on these trains with either wrong tickets, incorrect times or just no tickets at all!!

Surely there's no way that they could sell 2/3000 tickets for one train?! Surely there's a restriction on sales.

This post is from the cov fans forum group on Facebook (about 5k in it) but for anyone on here that is familiar with it, it's not a reliable source for information... great for pictures mocking Fisher and Sepalla mind.

I don't think they've sold all the tickets, I just think they anticipate it being carnage there all day.

Which it will be.

It was on the radio did mention Warwick Parkway and said only people with reserved seats are definitely getting on others are first come bases and that the Police will be in attendance.

Yeah have no doubt it is going to be busy around there. I can't see them not letting people on trains after they have bought tickets though without another train close behind.

From Chiltern Railways website - 'We do not offer seat reservations on our trains'.

First come first serve on Chiltern then and as they're all off peak on a Sunday, there's absolutely no way they'll know capacity per train. So guess trains could be tube-esque rammed if everyone gets the same one. But the club's fault?!?!

Unless the person raising this has spoken to all three operators, I'd have some doubts about this. Chiltern are definitely laying on extra trains, and I can't beleive that Virgin and London Midland haven't taken notice of demand either. Would be nice to have an official announcement of course, maybe the CET or the Observer could do something useful here?

Remember these are not specials but normal service trains so general public will be on board too, Virgin trains could be from Liverpool or Manchester and Man City are at Arsenal Sunday afternoon which could make Euston very interesting coming home especially if we have extra-time, not sure where London Midland start from. Brum or Wolverhampton but could be plenty on board before Cov.

Trains are always over sold ask anyone who goes to and from London in rush hour. If Coventry or warwick parkway have any sense it will be organised and they will get you on a train, probably not the one you booked but defiantly get you on eventually, but no doubt it wont be organised and it will be a free for all.

If you don't reserve a seat, you haven't got a seat reserved. Isn't that just how trains work all the time?

Try to get down to London on the Saturday if you can and sleep on a friends/relatives/acquaintances sofa. It doesn't look like Virgin are putting on any extra trains at all on Sunday.

Before people get worked up into a lather over a story that hasn't been verified anywhere other than on facebook, Chiltern have got a number of extra trains running from Warwick Parkway. Funnily enough, they're used to dealing with Wembley given that this is on their line so they'll be switched on.

I'd be amazed if there isn't something organised at Coventry, but I reckon it'd be worth getting there early and being prepared to stand up on the way down. London Midland have got at least one extra train - you'd hope that they might consider running eight rather than four carriages for their other services. Virgin run Pendolinos which are nine carraige trains. You can get a lot of people on them, but again it's going to be standing room only I'd suspect.

When I booked from Nuneaton a couple of weeks ago, (by which point we'd sold a large part of the allocation) there were loads of seats still available. I don't think most fans are travelling from there.

I've just checked, and Manchester to Euston trains don't stop at Coventry on Sunday morning, they go via Stafford and Milton Keynes. So no problem on the way down, and Euston always has a police presence in my experience.

All I'm saying here is that we shouldn't create a false panic - but if I was going from Coventry I'd get there in good time.

Fwiw, for anyone fretting, National Express still seem to be taking bookings on coaches direct to Wembley from Cov.

I'd use them or Warwick Parkway personally.

If anybody is worried you could be better going to Leicester Northampton or mk and getting the train to kings cross.

Fair call, but I reckon the coach from Cov is a better option personally if you've not booked. Warwick Parkway shouldn't be too bad either, though I fancy it'll be standing room only for the earlier trains.

Do the Warwick parkway trains not go through oxford?

Northampton and MK go into Euston. Northampton is served by London Midland only - I will be on the 8.53 from Northampton - no other Coventry fans are allowed on this one. .
