Anyone take the day off like me and my better half?, her parents are Irish and always go to the Radford Club for paddy's day, due to the golf tournamount organised each year there, plus Cov beer festival at the Butts too on 17th March?
What do u do for paddys day/w/end? (I'm prolly considered a proddy, but celebrate it all the same, any excuse for good day on the piss i suppose!)

I also will make a point of not wearing any green, which wont be difficult as I don't think I own a single green item of clothing.

We alternate between here and Ireland each year...staying over here this year and driving up to the Midlands later on to join in th fun....bastards were unable to give me the day off this year.

Haven't got any mates either with Irish heritage.

Nope, normal day for me! The Mrs grandparents are Irish, 1 from the north and 1 from the south! Still I'm 75% English (my dad's dad was from Latvia) and spent 7 years in 2RRF (England's Fusiliers) so I celebrate St.Georges day. Every year, without fail. Hope you all enjoy your day though, I'm off to bed as I'm in work at 6pm

English my arse, if you can only go back to 1066 you could be one of those Norman buggers who came over here taking our jobs and our women (they were good plumbers, mind).

If you can't trace your roots back to at least Stonehenge then it's back to the continent for you matey.

I know I am English. Only need to look at the surnames of my ancestors. Smith, Wood, Johnson, Du Beck, Pascal, Von Richtenhoffen, Van Winkle and Ho Jon Ming.

If that doesn't cry out St George and the red and white rose then nothing does!!

I flew out of Brum this morning and the amount of people in Guinness hats and fully dressed in green jumping on RyanAir flights was ridiculous!

I am of Irish heritage but consider myself an Englishman but don't begrudge any person celebrating their heritage!

I just use it as an excuse for a few beers (as does 99% of those who "celebrate" it )

Same as St. George's Day (although I have more pride in that day )
