Anyone else noticed that he seems to have stopped making runs into the box to support the attack lately?

He used to ghost in and scored a few goals as a result. Lately he doesn't seem to be doing that. Can only be down to tactically not being given licence to get forwards can't it?

Seems to have taken on a much more defensive role of late.

Slade telling him now to not go and join the attack you think to make us more solid at the back?

I had noticed he has been less of a threat but couldn't work out if that's because we have been so poor or whether due to tactics. I think last night showed (in the first half especially) that he had been given instruction not to wander too far forward.

tactics wise it looks like fans gonna have to get used to less shots on target. this should see us more defensivly sound but slades 0% win record says different.

hopefully he can bump that up between now and may!

in the league obviously.

Ah ok.

As for Rose he is dire really but he will put himself about. Probably as good a place as any is a spoiling midfielder - he has very high energy levels.

We have no other options than finch or Ghadzev

he just wants tall hard working players in middle so i imagine rose and reilly will be that partnership for a while.

never seen much of gadzhev myself but i miss bigi and stevenson playing the ball in middle of park personally.

Yep.

Hoping this Gogic comes through and impressed enough to warrant a contract.

Think we need a tough tackling, strong defensive midfielder, sort of in the Vincelot role.

I liked Rose when he first came, but for me he has gone very much downhill and now looks distinctly average. Struggles to tackle, can't head, now not getting forwards.

He has a good engine as has been stated, but for me he has been a big disappointment.

Bigi is finished at the club.

Over rated player at the moment, looked lost with the ball as a centre mid, need to be pushed back out wide or played as a wing back to be most effective.

Last night, before the game I criticised slade's team sheet. I thought like you that he should have played Stevenson and Bigi. But I have to say slade got it right...Reilly had a v good game and rose did his job well. Both went unnoticed at times but in second half did a great job in giving some protection to the back line.

seems so. i cant imagine any ball playing midfielder will be part of our team until a new manager comes in.

He has zero pace or crossing ability so a wing back would be ideal

Certainly seems to be down the pecking order, which makes me think Slade doesn't rate him, or can find no place for him in the side at the moment.

With what we have got, I like Stevenson and Reilly as the best central partnership

What are you on about. The stats show we had plenty of possession in the middle last night. Riley and Thomas used the ball with good effect.

There is a rumour that Slade has fell out with one player regarding attitude and commitment. Somewhat more demanding in training allegedly.

stevenson offers nothing if the ball is going over his head all game long.

Again the stats show we had plenty of midfield possession

Clueless.

Cos my initial guess would be Ghadzhev, who seems to amble about a bit on the pitch.

"what you on about?" talk with some respect please.

i was on halfway line and dont remember many periods of possession. it seemed everyone got the ball forward within 4-5 seconds on the ball.

In the first half Reilly had numerous forward runs and the centre halves all played the ball out to the supporting midfield. The second half became more fractured to to circumstance -.its a lack of understanding of tactics and formation that is your issue I'm afraid.

I thought Reilly and Thomas and DKE and Reid were trying to pass it about a bit with crisp passing, in the first half at least.

Withe likes of Beavon, Thomas, DKE, J Jones, Reid, he will try and find a place for Rose, not least because of his height. He has good energy, too. I feel a bit sorry for our midfielders at the Ricoh, as the pitch is so bobbly, any balls into them always run the risk of it being given away in a dangerous position (althought the same applies to the opposition!)

Yep, the.wycombe manager has also commented on it.

No surprise it's all long ball

You kbow exacrly what i mean big boy

First half was defo better than 2nd. But there was not loads of misfield passing. Reilly advanced play well with runs. But like i said originally the days of us passing it around and slotting pwople in out wide etc probabmy gone.

Some might say thats a good thing. I just want whatever tactic we use to work.

Absolutely...Reilly impressed me. First half he showed he can be a good link between the back 4 and front players. He showed some creativity and used the ball intelligently. Second half he played an important part in the back to the wall fight as Wycombe pressed. Overall we saw his best performance to date and I just hope he can continue to improve. I was disappointed slade picked him as I didnt see what he offered...last night we saw the potential he has

That's why if we use the long ball we need a big strong target man.

Will that be Yakubu? Who knows.

Someone said they heard we offered him a contract last night, but there's been no news.

I would have thought he would need a week with us at least before a decision could be made.

Reilly was out best player 1st half. He been slagged off alot orevious ganws but i thought he did well

We dobt have any retention in midfiemd to slow it down anymore. This might be by intention though. If we gonna utilise stevenson the defenders nees tontry get ball to him so he can make the long balls himself and yey to open up opposition defenders. If defenders and strikers play tennis he will just get neck ache

To be brutally honest after watching Tudgay last night in the 2nd half especially, If the Yak was totally unfit smoking 60 cigs a day he would be 100% better the Tudgay
