Oucho, when you say play alongside. Is that senior level or could he have say played with that player at youth/u21 level for club/country?
Full international level - he played at Euro 2004

Did anybody really expect anything different?

Same old City. No notable incomings (which were promised)

And only rumours seem to be of outgoings.

Surely Tim needs to be summoned to CWR and questioned as to why he lied on both TalkSPORT and CWR about funds being available to improve the squad

To be fair, maybe funds are available. It might just be that nobody wants to come to this co*kwomble of a club.

Trouble is - he'll be embarrassed to admit - no-one wants to come. He 'sold' us to the world like Ratner 'sold' his jewellery. He might have a few quid left in the budget, but can't attract anybody with it!

Why?

He stated on live radio signings were going to be made, were now an hour til the window closes and were looking like this hasn't happened.

He should be made to explain why he said one thing but delivered another.

I'd say that was a fair request

He will just say signings have been made?

Yes lets just sign someone who is shit and desperate. Let's just get something over the line....then we can all shout: He is shit!
Well the outcome is worse if we focus on unrealistic targets then have to sign stuff even shitter isn't it?

COVENTRY City are still hoping to bring in one striker – or one attacking midfielder – with 90 minutes to go before the transfer window closes at 11pm, we can reveal.

Club sources have just told us boss Russell Slade is still hoping to finalise a deal to boost goalscoring options, which has been a problem all season.

One striker in particular is being considered at this late stage.

He is not the same striker who Slade was targeting earlier today.

We are told the club realistically at this late stage expects to bring in one more player at best, if at all.

There has also been renewed late interest in one young Sky Blues player tonight which could still lead to a sale.

Brentford with the Hogan money?
Left with a disaffected Willis?
might get a striker (but not who he was after?)
A bit depressing?!

LIVE: Coventry City late bid to land a striker, and late bid for one Sky Blues player
Brentford have already spent the Hogan money, although there might be some change left

What were his words? (Im not saying you are wrong, just asking what he said so I can tell you how he will back track ;) )

Something along the lines of funds are available to improve the squad to give the manager the best possible chance to remain in the league.

This is fucking depressing.

The fact the transfer deadline day thread has descended into pension talk and a list of pathetically shit footballers who have left us is testament to how bad this day is.

Probably gonna be too late with this but is it Louis Saha?
Boom- well in there.

Yes, I had forgotten this but he not only played for Spurs briefly in 2012 (so playing with Bale) but also had a brief spell at Sunderland and was there at the same time as Bendtner.

Working that out was quite literally more enjoyable than sitting around waiting for news on new signings. Will check tomorrow but CBA to wait longer. Nightty night SBT.

I'm gonna have a stab at the striker... Marc Richards of Northampton. Northampton just signed another target man tonight from Portsmouth... they already have Alex revel. Just a punt but a feeling I've got from a strange signing they've made.

Tha

I'm not saying all are. However one poster claimed very few are.

For the record there is around £600 billion of people's pensions invested in hedge funds globally and there has been an increase in content of around 15% since 2013
Just keep moving the goalposts. You normally do anyway.

I was talking about defined benefit as you know. They are highly regulated these days as they are guaranteed to 90% of value by the government.

Everything else is different. You can choose how much goes into what risk.

Why is it that you make out that you are intelligent but act like an idiot?

He said that in January some would be coming in to strengthen the team and some would be leaving. Then he went on to say it was the fans fault for not getting behind the team enough.

He said

We are looking for a new manager and going to make a few changes to the squad.

He's a wanker

When Slade was appointed he said
  • The club will look to make as much playing budget available as possible for the new manager - that's got to be a f'in joke!

Well at least he'll fit in.
Can they surly be worse then we have now, any striker that can bag 5 goals upto the end of the season will be a bonus.

One player on top of what we've got isn't going to be enough to turn this around even if we don't sell someone at the last minute when its conveniently too late to get a replacement in.

Something is very wrong with our recruitment. I don't buy that players care about any of the business stuff. They're here 6 - 18 months and the players have always been paid. And our budget is surely bigger than some of the clubs who are signing players.
