It's as much a protest as somebody who goes on holiday who writes sisu out on the beach for social media.

Of course, they didn't agree with going on holiday and didn't want to but felt they had to to write sisu out on the beach.
Who doesn't want to go on holiday?

28000 seem to do so now, only about 8000 watch city, said this before I drive a mini-bus with 10 kids on 3 go to Wasps regularly NONE go to Sky Blues. While we remain run as we are and adrift in the bowels of the Football League and Wasps at the top end of their league this will continue.

For the record I wish they weren't here but I can't turn back time.
I watched a little bit of the Wasp game yesterday on my laptop, which can access BT sports. And yes it was a depressing experience to see what was meant to be our stadium virtually full. What was particularly noticeable was the top tier the corporates was full, and I believe was sold out weeks ago. That is the reality we are now facing. A 1,000 seater restaurant sold out, how much money is that generating for them alone. Thousands of fans buying and drinking alcohol before, during and after in the stadium. Probably sold out car parks, the BT fee, an electronic pitch side advertising, you have to wonder just how much money they took yesterday alone.
Another big gate next week apparently, the commentator reckoned they will have about 80.000 fans in just 3 games in about 3 weeks.
The harsh reality is that Wasps are here, and are here to stay. They are top of the league, and are only likely to get more and more coverage, in the local and national media. Even Sky who don't cover their Premiership , mention Wasps more than us. Midlands Today Sport based in Brum seem to have adopted them. In a few years time , the next generation will only know them as a Coventry team.
If people think things are bad know, just ponder in a few years time, we could be a non league team, and Wasps could be European Champions. Never mind trying to match the gates of Wasps,we may even struggle to match the gates of Coventry Rugby.
If Wasps dig their heels in and refuse to talk, unless SISU drop their legal threats, we would have no where to effectively go, then what.

I want our fans to support our team in numbers and stop making excuses why they are not going, I want our team to win but most of all I want them to put some pride in wearing the sky blue shirt whatever the outcome, I wish that Wasps were not on our radar, I wish that we had our own stadium ect......
Its no longer about the blame game, its about survival of the club and if that includes sisu then I want it to survive as much as I hate them. 10,000 against the top two clubs in our division, Wasps got 25,000 plus for each of their two games. Pitiful.
We are losing EVERY battle we are in, we are handing our city to Wasps on a plate and believe it or not its not about Wasps, its about getting enough people to commit to the club they claim to support- if you are sitting at home and your only excuse in not going is sisu then frankly you are part of the problem.
Just an opinion but carrying a banner to a rugby game is fine, knock yourself out, but will it change a thing? Going to support your team, now that will change everything if enough people can be bothered.

My issue isn't the flag, he could beam SISU out onto the moon for all I care.

Still, you keep trying to bang that drum. Can you point out my comments on somebody writing SISU out on a lorry that was posted, or the guy at the darts with his sign?

The difference is, you are hiding behind the "protested against SISU" line by holding up a flag a few times.[/QUOTE]
I haven't mentioned SISU in the thread.

SISU is a good enough reason not to attend, it really is that simple. How can people expect fans to just forgive them? They don't attend CCFC games because they think it's the best thing to do to be rid of SISU. Not everyone goes onto the internet, not everyone knows the ins and outs of our finances. Stop saying people are using excuses to not watch the team, I believe the last 9 years of absolute fucking bollocks is the reason they don't attend. The end.

I'm confused I thought it was considered better to protest at a WASPS game than a city game. I'm mean I've been busy so things might have changed

In addition if he wants to protest at a rugby match he pretty much needs to go to the rugby match

Personally I listened on the radio and did fuck all so FairPlay to him
Yep, echo that. I don't buy the HAD to go line, but if he got a free ticket and decided he wanted to go and try and get a bit of publicity for the Sisu out campaign and hold his flag up, then I don't see what the problem is with that.

Any hypocrisy issue is a different matter

I don't expect people to forgive sisu, I would like to think that they would realise that unless they love Coventry City more than they hate sisu they are facing as you put it so well. The end

What gets me is people believe fans are staying away because we are shit, yet we've been shit since the day I was born apart from one day in 1987... Yet the crowds weren't as low as they are since people seen SISU's true colours.

SISU are the reason why thousands don't come back, I'd put my life on over half of them returning if news broke that SISU have gone.

And if we were good but with sisu as owners or a big cup draw with sisu as owners?

Not had a big cup draw since SISU moved us away and brought us back to be homeless again in 2018...

Also helps if we were in a cup to draw big teams, how many years has that been?

There is nothing to debate over it Nick, the fans who stay away is because of SISU.

After the shit you gave people!

Leader of the fucking scab crew rocking upto a Wasps match. Who would have thought it?

What did Wasps do to brainwash you and make you their apologist? Could have a field day just changing SISU to Wasps in your past posts.

Did they give you a spine and self respect when you went back out? (That was one of yours by the way).

giphy.gif

That's the best slap down that I have ever witnessed on SBT.

No coming back from that ever.

Time to change the user name....

And? weren't the tickets £10 and kids free? You realize how many non CCFC supporters probably attended with their mates because "Coventry had come home"?

Ahhh but we were brought back under the 'build bridges' line. The line that is conveniently forgotten when the homeless thing is bandied about.

Majority of fans are staying away because we had a shit summer recruitment and an even worse start to the league. The whole moral crusade is laughable. The same people who spout it, also understand why Wasps are here. How it was a business decision and they had always moved.

I'll even prove it by making a poll on Facefuck, simply because it will get more responses than on here:

"Do you stay away from The Ricoh because:"

A.) We're Shit
B.) Because of SISU.

Not sure if you are serious or not when you think that will be a definitive answer?

Add to it then before I post it, I only want to see the responses, because so many on here including myself believe we all know why they stay away...

I think you're being a bit harsh - the semi vs Leeds was good too. In fact the only semi I've enjoyed as much since is the unexpected one I got during Brokeback Mountain.

Even if people initially stopped going due to reasons other than Sisu we would definitely see a big increase in numbers the very next game if they left. How long that would keep up is another matter.

Exactly, people will test the waters first so they don't get burned again I'd imagine.

You can't blame anyone for staying away, considering we're coming up to nearly a decade of answers to the question 'why?'

Conversely, if we started actually succeeding under the same owners it'd be tough to blame them if they were coaxed back.

At a Wasps game wouldn't it be of greater use to target Wasps treatment of CCFC at the Ricoh, their refusal to talk to the club about extending their stay and the impact of their plans for AHC on our academy?

Yep-my thoughts exactly!

Damn! I've just remembered-that's all SISU's fault too......
