Ok, couldn't find the poxy film thread, so I'm posting it fresh off the bat:

What a film?! Pretty much had me gripped from the offset, and modern day films don't grip me whatsoever.

Highly recommend it, well worth an hour and 47 minutes of your time. 8.5/10

- trailer for Spectral.

It has one or two 'cheesy' moments, but overall it's a decent sci-fi/action crossover that actually held my attention for the duration. Excellent acting too, and a very good script.

If you have Netflix, definitely worth watching.

Will give it a whirl. Quite like my sci-fi.

Netflix Originals are knocking it out of the park at the moment. Just watched Designated Survivor and that's awesome, just started Beyond at that's good as well.

Apparently they were outbidding everyone at the film festivals but no one wants to sell to them because they won't release in cinemas.

Theres also "A series of unfortunate events" which might be quite good.

Speaking of Netflix Originals. Has anyone watched Dirk Gentley yet? Love the books but wasn't sure when it was announced as being made in the US. Haven't watched it yet but been hearing good things.

I sort of watched it while my wife was(had work to do), seemed pretty good. Certainly better than the abomination that was the HHGTG movie.

Finally got around to watching Spectral Last night. Really really enjoyed it. The quote from the wife "meh".

'Meh' indeed, pfft.

I watched it too. I liked it, though wasn't entirely bowled over by it. I liked the 'baddies' though.

My wife just says 'meh' to everything, including sex.

I know what you mean, it wasn't a cinematic blockbuster, but it was just pure entertainment coupled with a script that wasn't cack, which a lot of sci-fi tends to be.

Just do what I did, regarding the female of the house; smudge marmite up her arse crack whilst she's asleep, nudge her to wake her up, then pretend to be asleep and enjoy the show. :)
