Will be a shame when Ryton training ground goes but let's not forget had we (ccfc) been able to get planning it would have gone years ago in the Richardson/McGinnity years, when Wasps complete their multi-million pound training facility we'll be okay renting part of that.

The new Rugby Borough Local Plan that shows Ryton as a potential housing site is just a draft, people have until 11 November 2016 to comment on it (or part of it):

https://www.rugby.gov.uk/info/20004...0/local_plan_-_publication_draft_consultation

Perhaps if people object the proposed development won't go ahead.

Let's not send in the Higgs type objections though, we need legitimate and relevant objections.

I have a very distant and slight knowledge of the planning system (from university many, many years ago) and I can see one legitimate objection people might raise is the loss of green belt land when there are alternative viable brown field housing sites in the borough. I am sure there are other legitimate objections that might be raised (lack of infrastructure, accident rates on Leamington Road etc), perhaps one of the posters here has more recent and detailed knowledge of the planning system than me?

Oh dear MV . . Why on earth would he be involved in this if he was n't on the "BONUS" payroll . As for the reasoning for selling ,couldn't they think of a better lie ? They are laughing at us everyday . NOPM is the only answer .
Surely NOPM isn't the answer! Although I'm just about to be branded a 'SISU Sympathiser' for this, did the lowly 2000 gates at shitfields and 6000 the following season not starve them? Did they leave? Starving these cretins of money is surely the reason they're selling of players and more importantly Ryton?

Relax guys it'll never happen...

"Rugby Council’s local plan specifies that Ryton cannot be developed until the club satisfies Rugby Borough Council and Sport England that replacement facilities can be secured."

So they've got to actually do something tangible this time, rather than spinning everyone along. I mean, surely the mighty Rugby Council and Sport England won't be hoodwinked :jawdrop:

LMFAO... Mark Venus (born 6 April 1967 in Hartlepool) is an English football coach and former player. He currently works as technical director of Coventry City. As a player, he spent the majority of his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town. As a coach, he has served as an assistant manager to Tony Mowbray at Hibernian, West Bromwich Albion, Celtic and Middlesbrough. x2. As I said.. He's followed Mowbray for years.

And as I said he stayed at Boro and managed them for several weeks after Mowbray left - as he did at Hibs and he applied to stay full time.

so because the old guard would have sold it, its ok for our current owners to sell it ?

current ground is not sustainable due to revenues - nothing other than a photo to show for a new one
current training ground not sustainable due to size - nothing so far

I don't think hoodwinked will come into it. What they've actually said ""Implementation of site allocation DS3.9 can only occur when adequate replacement of pitch provision is made to the satisfaction of Rugby Borough Council and Sport England in accordance with national planning policy". They're not bothered about CCFC, just pitch provision in the borough. Could just mean some goalposts in a field somewhere to hand over to RBC that CCFC never so much as step on let alone use for a training base.

You'd have to guess he's been utilised to tug the heartstrings due to team connection rather than Owner connection.
Whether there is any reward to him I doubt it
Assume this is why Deering is on the board to do the legwork, hope she's not being recompensed for that!

There isn't a requirement to hand the pitches over to RBC.

It was a tongue in cheek comment Tony, but if that is the case....I take it Ryton is currently being used by parties other than CCFC and if houses were built, residents or firms within Rugby borough would complain to the council and/or Sport England?

I never said there was. But unless there's a new training ground actually being built (something there's zero evidence of happening at this point) what else is going to happen with them? It's either that or leave them to rot.

What did it say ?
Basically said that it can't be sold or build on until an alternative training site is identified and that the reason they were looking to sell was that they needed to move to a bigger training facility.

No they didn't the statement is.. "Implementation of site allocation DS3.9 can only occur when adequate replacement of pitch provision is made to the satisfaction of Rugby Borough Council and Sport England in accordance with national planning policy". That could mean something different, it certainly mentions nothing about training facilities just requires 2 replacement pitches as far as I can see.

The devil is in the detail. It doesn't say that CCFC have replace the training facilities with more training facilities for CCFC it clearly says pitch provision. It's all about maintaining the number of pitches in the borough. Whether they were private previously and public now doesn't seem to be a concern. It's a number counting exercise so government can say they're promoting sport.

Careful captain you will be acused of posting the same propaganda against sisu again.
When will people wake up and realise what sisu are doing. Mark venus should go with the rest of them now. Its about money making for the well off and laughing at us fans whilst they dismantle the club

Who are you telling this to?

Everyone knows what they are doing, its just can do bugger all about it, and I cant see the point of frothing bile on an internet site daily, as it does nothing to help me feel better or help the club.

So when is Mark Venus going to present the plans and location of the new bigger training facilities to the fans?

As soon as Fisher has finished drawing them up on the back of a fag packet
