Not sure if anyone is paying attention to this or not. Some exciting games so far

Messi came on as sub on 65 minutes then scored fantastic hat-trick for Argentina yesterday. More excitement than Euros so far. Stupid that it's on at the same time as the Euros though.

I've been able to catch a few games, last night Messi came on as sub scored a beautiful free kick.

I can only watch the games on the Spanish channels though (free; I dont have paid cable or satellite channels)

Peru have been giving Brasil a run so far this game. Peru's man essentially fore-armed a goal (which I couldnt even see at first), which was under debate by officials for about 4 minutes and allowed to stand, 80th minute 0-1 to Peru

Shocked to see Brazil are out. The officials usually favour Brazil heavily in every game. It's tough to get any decision against Brazil.

Brasil just needed to beat or draw Peru to advance. Despite Peru's questionable goal, Brasil failed to score their own needed goals. Play up Peru, always good to see shake ups in any tournament

What has happened to Brazil. They were the great entertainers of world football but now they can't even scrape a draw against Peru. Their football is so negative too

...As a consequence, Dunga has been sacked.

Isn't that sort of the problem though. No manager is given time to build anything and get them playing well again because they are so trophy hungry. Dunga was a bad choice in the first place, didn't play amazing football under him before but he has won things so was an easy choice for their FA

Most of their players now play in Europe and have been tainted by the European way. Back in the glory days, they all played in South America.

Aye, agreed, how are managers able to bring through promising players from within if they don't get the time to do so?

Instant success is now the name of the game unfortunately.

USA through to the semi-finals but unfortunately will be missing three of their first choice players due to red and yellow card suspensions.

Despite ending 0-0, a very exciting game filled with sharp counter attacks.
Penalty shoot out on going. Pressure is on!

Chile 7 - Mexico 0.
Jsut watched this game and it was a very lop sided affair. It was almost like the Mexican defense was challenging eachother to come up with the most bonehead or lazy defending possible, and Chile simply punished every single lapse.

Lots of beer and cups thrown at players (nothing near like euro 2016 fan violence or anything, fans arent even segregated and beer is sold/drank in the stands. Just Mexico fans throwijg their frustrations deservedly)

Watching US v. Argentina (Spanish channel, of course)
Currently 0-2,
Messi just scored a gravity defying free kick, apparently he just became Argentina's all time leading goal scored (my Spanish is, not good, but "golaso historico" kept being quickly mentioned by the commentators)

I recommend checking out the YouTube for that goal, no keeper had a chance

Guzan just clotheslined an Argentinian, after he thought he got beat for a third goal (it was offside anyway, but no reason to stick the arm out like that)

Current crop of usa players is the weakest in decades. Even at full strength, they cannot compete with the top nations. There is no solution in sight.
