Gotta be the most cringeful gigs ever tho. Sing a Long a song.
I'm all for singing along to the songs but when 20,000 people are singing along to the guitar chords that's where it gets stupid

Whar annoys me is people filming it on their phones or even trying to ring others from the gig

I hate that. Take a quick pic fair enough but not the whole show.

Although I am a bit of a hypocrite here as I watched the whole of Guns n Roses from Las Vegas and AC/DC from Lisbon on twitter!

Not a fan of them I gather?
yeah I thought there first proper album and made of Stone were brilliant in places , shit in others , Second proper album had a couple Good tracks but ultimately was shit.
I love all of ian brown's solo albums , far far better than any Stone roses stuff.
I can't see how they've become so legendary over the years , there were far better bands out around Manchester scene at the time , just don't get the mad love in .

Oh , plus everyone and his dog reckons they were at spike island, but if you really were there, you'd know it was shit haha ,

Stone roses must be the biggest bluff in the history of music

All about opinions but I fucking love them!!!!

Heard the new song on Absolute earlier and it sounded alright but need to hear it a few more times.

I've got tickets for the Sunday at the Ethiad and really looking forward to it.

I thought it was quality
Although with them releasing new material and joe Royle managing Everton I did check it wasn't 1995

Just out of interest what were the better bands around in your opinion?

What a load of absolute shite this new song is, embarrasing and cringeworthy.

"all for one and one for all, if we all join hands we'll build a wall"

They've taken 20 years to come up with that?! Fucking awful.

happy mondays , charlatans , new order , straight off the top of my head .
Stone roses , I'm not belittling them at all , they were very important music wise, but other than one 'part ' album and an album of b sides , that came out years later , they didn't really impact for Long enough , and they have become legends in their own living rooms , and promoted through the ranks , and if you lived baggy , like I did, you are left scratching your head at that legend, and most definitely , if you are my age, mid 40's , not think the new single is pretty poor in regards to that first album

I don't think you can call their debut album a one "part" album, it is quality album and aided regarded as one of the best released in the 80's. Second Coming is also a good album with some good quality songs. I'm a big fan of the other 3 bands you mention, new order aside (well their former incarnation Joy division were even more influential) the stone roses had far more impact on the music scene than the other 2. It was not just about the music, but the way they emerged, doing secret warehouse gigs, then spike island, etc that they have become iconic.

I've listened to the new single a few times now, and actually you're right, its okey not class.

Sorry but I just don't agree that Stone roses were more influencing on music than mondays or charlatans. One album in 89 , then oasis blur came along in 93 and made up all forget about madChester
tone roses did not have THE influence you seem to imagine they did, for some reason they have been placed on a pedestal along side spinal scream even tho they only spawned one album of dubious legendary status . I just don't get how a came with such a lack of albums has been placed at the top table like they have , it defies logic

It could be Donald Trump's campaign song, have to say I think it's a very weak effort.

Doesn't matter how many albums you make, you can still be an influence. The La's only had one album, Jeff Buckley only had one album, Derek and the dominoes only had one album, they have all had some....feck me even the sex pistols only had 1 album, they were and still are massively influential

that NME story is terrible .
I would suggest none of them albums would have been made unless happy mondays had bought out squirrel in 87 and bummed in 89
Then the rave on series, they had to have inspired the more electronic albums in that story , and that's 50% there on show. Equally both early mondays albums have guitars and melodies.
Stone roses , like blur , spinal scream were all playing music that resembled bands like the damned , hoth rock , take a listen to garage flower to testament that , I would argue the roses listened to squirrel and g men and thought , Fuck me .

I don't need to pull out out internet links to actually know those facts.

The Stone roses album was great , but influencing all those albums and bands, I'm not so sure of that.
Thenoel gallagher interviews , it's pretty obvious he wanted to followed on the manchester sound , but listen to his music , it sounds like beetles vs 70s rock, not Stone roses

Just Read that cross fade article and it states happy mondays copycatted Stone roses?????
Despite having an album out 2 years earlier and one out the same year, i'll have to check the dates on their Second album because I'm pretty sure bummed came out before the Stone roses did too .

Like i've said before , the Stone roses , for some reason , have been put up there on top of the pile , despite not being the first at what they did

Bummed came out 6 months before Stone roses.

You can see the biased towards the Stone roses just from that single piece you posted , from cross fade , telling people that everyone copied roses when it just isn't truthful.
The same with spike island , if you were there you would know it was pretty shit

I'm a big Stone Roses fan but the new song is crap. It sounds like one of the ubiquitous brit pop era bands. Ian Brown has made much better solo stuff than that drivel.

Yup.... I'm another big stone roses fan, I saw them back in the day & seen Ian Brown several times, including a barnstormer of a gig at the manc appollo in 2004 where Mani & Noel Gallagher joined in....

however the new tune is shit to the point of embarrassing....

I'm not a fan of that genre but the new song is rubbish. If someone told you it was an old Bryan Adams b-side you wouldn't doubt them.

Yep.....new tune is far more "stone roses" than that "all for one" pile of wank......

This new tune actually sounds like Brown, Remi & Mani actually contributed.....as opposed to the 1st single that just sounded like something john squire found stuck on the bottom of his shoe....a shoe he had not worn since recording his lame sea horses stuff.....

Just listening to it as I type and yes it is definitely more Stone Roses than All For One but................I don't think All For One is as bad as people are making out and it was always going to be ridiculously hard to release a song after all this time and with all the expectations surrounding it.

Love 'Beautiful Thing', could have appeared on the first album and not sounded out of place.
The Roses are better when you can really hear what Reni and Mani are playing. Best rhythm section seen in a UK band for donkeys years.
