Xenforo - Other Forum Platforms (1 Viewer)

Thinking again of moving to a newer / faster platform over the summer.

Does anybody use Xenforo on other forums and if so, what do you think?

Also, if you use other forums with a good platform / features if you can let me know!

I still use phpbb for my forum, far better now it uses extentions and not modifications and it's free

Been playing around with ocPortal, its very powerful but the controls are a bit of a bugger. You can have a forum as well as a content management site like the Telegraph or Observer linked in with a shopping cart etc.

Jmoola is another one.

Had a Facebook clone set up for me on a site a month or two back. Very freaky.

It will be much faster to use and also work properly on phones (editing etc).

Would be a lot quicker and less "heavy". Obviously branded as blue with CCFC!

Looks much of a muchness. I found SBT too garish and full of images when I first got here, but I've got used to that now. I say if it's quicker and costs no more, go for it.

Can I say: please don't try and turn it into a "content portal" though, unless it's as part of an Avengers style team up with the likes of Nii Lamptey and TLS. The last thing I want is endless masturbatory pieces like the CT "Fans Zone" bit.

It is quicker, and it will cost for a license but if it is better...

Mate, it's good enough as it is. You're nowhere near GMK levels of server problems, not by a country mile. It's your cash, but unless you're making a profit here (which I doubt), or it will save you significant hassle don't waste your money on us arseholes.

It will give better features for mobile users and be a lot faster.

It will hopefully save hassle going forward, but might try a demo of it to see what's going on.

It's not massively expensive and I can always sell the license if it's no good!
