CWR just now, Geoffrey Robinson shown to be a liar. Why doesn't he just go away in shame. Self serving corrupt and now a liar. No different from his mate Richardson.

why people continue to criticise robinson is beyond me, he has lost millions trying to help the sky blues and the city over the years and is a fan so obviously wants whats best, you make my blood boil, clueless idiots

Geoff Robinson?
Lost millions £££££££££££££££££££££££££'s when SISU took over, he always mixed with the away supportes, andi n those days we knew who the chairman was, unlike the people we have now, who hide in shadows, and exotic hideaways.
Geoff Robinson wasn't perfect, but a real city fan nevertheless
And give me him any day, compared to the Faceless crew that owns us at present.

He lost millions in the takeover yes, but he made plenty in interest payments on money he put into the club during his time.
Him & Richardson sold Highfield Rd without having anywhere to go.
Negotiated the current deal with ACL.
Got the club millions of pounds in debt.

He come into a stable Premier league club, left a struggling championship club on the verge of admin with no assets.

Sisu and Robinson/Richardson are just as bad as each other.

Hear, hear! Ur absolutely right mate, they are the facts, doesn't matter if some deluded people see otherwise. It's like old people getting nostalgic and say "things were better back then"!

Robinson invested a great deal of his own money into the club. He was obviously looking to get a return on it, but that's fair enough, or are we now only going to be happy with investors who gift money to the club?

When things went tits up, he was prepared (however reluctantly) to take a major loss on his own investment and give the club a chance to start afresh with new owners - I'd thought that was what most people wanted SISU to do.

As Chairman, on many matchdays, he walked through the "normal" (i.e, non-corporate) parts of the Ricoh talking to anyone who wanted to talk to him. Can anyone imagine Ken doing that?

Many mistakes were made while he was on the Board, some of them were very likely directly down to him, but to be honest I'd prefer to have him running the place than Ken/SISU.

Lost millions my arse.... he recouped lots of cash from us in internet payments etc, did he not also make a tidy sum selling the ownership stake to Sisu, which was transferred to him as a guarentee for a loan? Did he not try and transfer ownership of the training ground to himself?

The more he speaks out the more I am convinced Sisu are going to admin us and relieve themselves of any potential future obligation to him.

Sooo...why and how exactly was he proven to be a liar on CWR today? It may have helped if the OP had included that for those of us who were at work still!

Anyone slagging on Robinson hasn't a bloody clue. Guy wouldn't do anything to make a £ out of CCFC and he wouldn't turn the club over at any stage.

In my opinion he deserves nothing but credit in what he did for the club and invested in the club by millions. Not chicken feed but millions of his own money and wrote it off to help the club move forward and then was turned over by SISU and there shamful ethics.

God I wish the guy was in charge now. Give the bloke a fucking break will some of you.

What was said???

From people who have met him he is by all accounts a decent guy who lost money on a club he supports.

Is it just because he's a politician?

By that argument we're all racists because of a few idiots in the crowd.

Heard a little of the chat. Guy from Alan Higgs Trust came on and said that one of the people backing Robinsion's bid was done for fraud. Had to take a piss then so didn't hear the rest, urm, sorry? :)

CCFC Finance Director
The facts are that CCFC has been badly run by those who were on the Board over the years since 1996 when the losses kicked in. They made the decision to have poor financial control and to run the club at huge losses. They didnt have to, they could have run the club on a normal commercial basis but chose to gamble with it instead.

Because of the utter shambles in the finances the likes of GR made loans to the club which earnt them interest, so increasing the clubs losses, increasing debt and giving those who made the loans a return. It should be noted that the loans were made by the same people making a complete mess of the finances - had they ran it properly then their loans would not have been necessary and they would not have had to write them off when the CCFC losses/debts became too great to carry. Despite being culpable in the bad financial decisions they still sought to make money from the club!

Do I have any sympathy for the likes of GR or any other director that has served in making this disaster - no. They created the mess called CCFC finances in the first place, failed to deal with the good name of the club and repeatedly year after year made things worse. Without their input the club need not have made those losses and SISU would not have been here. We would then not be sitting here worrying whether we were about to go into administration. They are and/or were the custodians of the club for the fans - they have failed us totally!

Lets be clear the blame for the financial disaster is firmly on the shoulders of each and every director that has served in this time since 1996. Some are more prominent than others but all failed to safeguard our club

Further lets be clear GR didnt volunteer to write his debts off - he had no choice. Sorry thats wrong he had two choices first the deal he got (and he did take something from it) or his second choice 30 minutes later when the club went into administration and very likely bankruptcy (because there were no assets to save) and he lost everything.

So before we mop his crocodile tears and gush sympathy for a true CCFC fan, just remember who was involved in getting us into this mess in the first place - all the members of the various Boards since 1996 until SISU got here and in no small way including GR!! Without them and their lack of good business practice we would never have heard of SISU! We wouldnt have current situation & owners !

Listern Again on BBC Cov & Warks. Malcolm Boyden interview with Peter Netchwell from the Higgs Charity Trust. You don't have to wait long as the interview is inside the first 15mins. Also Malcom said he asked orange Ken to come on and do an interview about the future of the club. So far orange ken has refused but Malcom Boyden says he will keep trying today, tomorrow, next week, next month basically until Tango man agrees. :thinking about:

Fair play to him, just keep at it, it's like an itch, you can ignore it for a while, but in the end you have to scratch in the end, Orange Ken will have to speak in the end.

What we have here is all sides blaming each other, i've no sympathy for any of them either.
As OSB says, the problems arose by living beyond our means in the 90's & we've never got out of them. SISU are cutting costs now, it hurts like hell & is only gonna get worse!
If GR/BR and their successors had run the finances within means, then sure relegation would have come sooner, but without the massive debt burden & we'd be much better off now and probably own at least half the stadium. They gambled and lost.

Grit your teeth folks... getting rid of debt is the only way out unless a multi-billionaire takes a fancy to own the club.

Just out of interest do you include one of the most prominant directors of the lot - Joe "Mr Coventry" Elliot in this as well?

I forgot that GR is a thoroughly decent man whose farts smell of roses.:facepalm::facepalm:

All this shit we are in now stemmed from him and his two cronies, Richardson and McGinnity. Jeez!!!!! :(

Richardson was a poor businessman no mistake. But we did need investment once the Prem kicked off. Don't forget we had some of our best times since the cup run under him. Things could very easily turned out different had we not gone down. We'd probably be sitting here discussing what a great ground the Ricoh is with our 26k average and how it's enabled us to compete at the top level.

The real culprit in my eyes was McGinnity who successively fucked up our chances of going up through some awful decisions. We bet the farm and lost sure enough. But theres a strong argument that we would have dropped through the leagues without investment and hindsight is always 20/20.

I find it interesting that being a City fan is Hoffmans great attribute in many peoples eyes but other people don't get this free pass.

And if the guys biggest crime was charging interest on a loan then lock up every financier ever. Was it higher than a bank would have charged?
