That's what I don't get. Where does this hunch come from that they are suddenly going to drop like a fly?

If they win on Monday they will be 14 points clear of us and I would gladly put quite a bit of money on the notion that there will be no way on this Earth that we will be catching them.

Hunch doesn't need to come from anywhere does it really? Well aware stats don't back it up but I just have a feeling they won't walk away with the title

No, I agree they probably won't, but I am talking in terms of OUR being able to catch them.

They go 14 points clear of the City, I'm convinced we won't be able to catch them. Too much to catch up with only 15 games left.

I think to have any chance of that we would have to win at least 6-7 matches in a row.

BBC says 'outside the UK'
Burton and Wigan will get the auto spots. To assume that we will suddenly come good while they fall away is too much of a stretch. It will be all we can to to stave off the clubs coming from below us. Millwall have already jumped ahead of us.

Time changes everything. This time next week they may have lost 2 games in a row.

Not saying it's gonna happen for sure. Just not ruling it out. Cov might not catch thrm but maybe wigan and Walsall will?

Still think we can win title though...

Only because we didn't play. They are only one point ahead and we have a game in hand. Because of our much superior goal difference a draw would put us back ahead of them.

Plus, in March they have to play Wigan, Bradford, Sheff Utd and Burton. Very tough set of fixtures.

I'm not so worried about Millwall myself.

Errm, yes Gaz, but the thread was created for today's games. The key games today!

That's why I only listed today's key matches.

I do think though that we should just keep the thread going and for every line-up of matches we assess who our rivals are playing and how we feel their games pan out.

So what would suit us best tomorrow? Another draw?

Southend V Burton

Southend 5 points behind, same amount of games played.

Burton 11 points ahead, but with a game in hand.

I personally don't think we will catch Burton, so a draw or a Burton win would be ideal.

Concur?

None of the results are particularly appealing, if you pushed me I would say Southend win. I think ultimately Southend won't be good enough to make the play offs so would rather Burton lose, that would also make it 3 losses from the last 6 for Burton also which could the catalyst for them dropping from the automatic places.

Burton win or draw with several injuries for each side plus a couple of sendings off each;)

So, predictions tonight?

Southend v Burton.

Anything but a Southend win I guess.

Depends on whether you think we can catch Burton or not. I say not, well not unless they have a complete collapse of course.

I don't mind a Southend win.

If the brakes are put on Burton and they possibly hit a rocky patch then it all opens up again.

We have to concentrate on winning as many as possible. Forget teams below us with this amount of games to go. Worry about other results when we are down to the last four or five games

Yep. Don't know why people would think they will win, but them not catch us. I want all the clubs below us to stay well below us.

Oh so now southend and Burton are better than cov? Never thought you were so negative otis

Or do you just flip flop to any team doing well?

Not saying Southend are better. Just don't want any team breathing down our necks and we know we have the ability to slip up. Want all the teams below us to stay below us.

Burton ARE better than us.

Burton are more consistent but not sure they are better. On a good day I would fancy us to score 3 or more against anyone. On a bad day we ship a couple of silly goals
