Would you offer him a new contract ?
In my mind he just makes up the numbers and has been a passenger (like one or two others) this season. He has lost his pace, seemingly lost his passion
Saturday first half more often than not he stood around while the Saints passed around him (not a bad team certainly one of the better ones to come to the Ricoh recently - but we proved briefly that they could be put under pressure). At best McSheffery broke into a walk with a few runs inter mingled. Second half when he should have provided Christie with some token cover at least he went missing - leaving Cyrus (playing out of position but never giving up) two attackers to mark. Poor performance but that has become the norm from him
I think the diamond formation does not work well for us. It would if we passed progressively and quickly but we dont. So that system that McSheffery was key to is becoming redundant out of necessity. So if he is no longer a pacey wide player, no longer is a good goal threat and the system he is key to is not to be used why keep him ?
Like many of the senior players he has been a disappointment this season. Perhaps he will get injured playing and get a new contract  but personally I would let him go. He has lost his pace, never had great vision, plays for himself and his decision making is woeful. Thanks but lets not tie ourselves in to even more lame ducks
