You always get people saying no club that size has gone out of business but it will happen sooner or later.

You only have to look at clubs like Cardiff too, threw money at the problem to get to the promised land but just didn't work and look at the state of them

It wasn't planned, they grew organically. The population of Britain has grown, but the proportion attending football matches hasn't, for various reasons, a lot of it associated with Sky and its different affects on the game.

Building a huge new stadium eight-miles outside of town probably didn't help much.
