Left the ground with a protective cast on his left ankle after being stamped on in the first half. Hope it isn't serious or we've got big problems at the back.

I saw him in the players lounge after the game. He didn't seem concerned about it and was in good spirits.

Big round of applause in the casino after the game when Marcus Hall picked him as MOM

Stokes is quality. Hope the injury isn't too serious as he is a contender for player of the season. We need him fit.

Vincelot played well but made a couple of mistakes, whereas, besides stepping on the ball early on and nearly losing possession, Stokes was outstanding. My player of the match for sure.

Have we found a centre back in Chris Stokes, outstanding in crap conditions his reading of situations is brilliant at times and can play. As for Vincelot played well but it looks at times he could be carrying a knock tends to slow up a bit towards the back end of the game.

Fleck was good, really drove us forward at times. But I think Stokes nicks MOM for his goal.

Stokes was superb at Centre back, but i felt we missed him at Left Back tonight as Haynes offered nothing.

Well that's it in a nutshell. We need Stokes at left back. Alternatively, we can leave Stokes at centre half and bring another left back in, but Haynes is not strong enough in that position.

Best bet would be to send Haynes on loan if we could spare him.

Haynes wasn't bad.
He's done quite well for me over the last2-3 he's come in for. Certainly no disaster.
One time Murphy put the ball up the line and he was on his heels, but he's been overlapping and firing a few crosses over.
The problem last night was both full backs were coming narrow while the ball was on the opposite flank inviting the crossfield pass which is where Murphy and JOB come in.

I've been saying that for ages, but for me, Haynes isn't a left-back. I'm surprised TM hasn't foraged for a left back yet, Haynes is clearly not suited to that position and is thus unsuitable as a back up. Certainly not suitable as a starting left back.

Problem is, when Martin returns, Stokes will be put back at LB and whoever TM signs as cover will be left out.

Maybe TM is simply making do with Haynes until Martin returns, I dunno.

So unlucky in defence!! Not many teams would be up there having lost their 3 best centre backs
Plus Willis too. Not saying he's that great, buy add him to Reda, Turner and Martin and that's 4 centre backs. That's why I really hope Stokes' injury isn't too bad. That would make 5 if he's out for any length of time.

Not surprised the way he was taken out in the first half.

Who stamped on him? Was it that c**t Chambers? How he stayed on the pitch last night...

I'm certainly not a Haynes fan - don't think he should be anywhere near the first team - but I have to say I thought he was pretty good in the first half last night. Still not our first team left back long term though.

Yeah I thought Haynes did OK last night. Seems to have improved defensively and is decent going forward.

Phillips however seems to be past the mini honeymoon he's been on since he came back in and was back to his rubbish self. He's just so naive for a defender.

I think he's found his natural position at Centre back, I'm very impressed so far. Reminds me of Ben Turner in some ways.

I know Phillips is young and still learning but I just don't see a pro footballer in there. He gets caught out far too many times and most games he's played in we've conceded from play on his side of the pitch. I'm praying the swede is fit soon

Agreed....didn't feel comfortable when Haynes was on the ball. He slows the game up...takes ages to makes a decision. He's just not up to speed. Strange to think that in Pressley's team he was a rising star. Just shows you how different a team we are these days. A spell out on loan would be a great idea. And Stokes just has to be one of the best signings ever!!!

I feared the worst when Stokes initially had to move into the middle by necessity, but he's been a bit of a revelation. His touch lets him down too much out wide for me, but is less of an issue in the centre.

Reda, Turner, Martin, and now Stokes.

Would make one of the strongest back 4's in L1

Agreed. There's been a lot of complaints about our defence recently but if you took those 4 out of any L1 lineup they'd struggle. Hopefully Martin and Stokes will be back sooner rather than later. Think Mogga will be looking at getting some short term cover in.
