Merc all day long, unless you're a gay hairdresser, then get the tt.

The TT can be seen as a Women’s car yes but the TT-S is a different animal- I would have one in a heartbeat.

Ignore the hairdressers comments.

Take both for an extended test drive. See which one fits like a glove. If neither does then restart your search.

I like both Mercedes and Audi. Very good motors. Audi has the edge most of the time though. But preferred them more before the BMW idiots moved to Audi.

Lol knew the hairdresser comments would fly in and I see why but I’m a proper car head as carrado said tts is total different car then normal tts I’d be looking at the power to weight ratio and throw on a straight through exhaust system the power increase be nice few extra bhp but that luxury style of the merc is swaying me and I’m leaning towards that plus it’s 36mpg on the highway so it’s ticking more boxes than the Audi TT but it’s good see other people’s opinions to help me decide

I would choose Audi over Merc everyday if I were buying, but I wouldn't buy an Audi TT with your money. But that said, if I lived in Toronto I'd 110% be driving a Ford F-150. No questions

I took a neighbour to pick a Merc up that looks like the one you are looking at a couple of weeks ago. Is it an AMG?

Nice motor. He got it in black. The seagulls are making it black and white every day

Out of those 2, the TTS for me. However, if you can stretch your budget, get a TTRS.

If you want a Merc, get an A45 AMG.

TTRS are nice, sound nice when they give it a bit with the gearbox and the gearchanges.

Had a Manual V6 TT and it was a fair bit of fun like a go kart. Test drove a TTS at the time and although it did sound nice it wasn't the same as the V6.

I think the new fashion is to have an A class. It's the new Audi A3.

I saw a mint Fiesta Turbo the other day, would smash both the A3 and A class back doors in.

Quite Litterally because it'd be driven by some 21 year old chav off the track at land rover who would crash into the back of them racing

It was a middle aged bloke, a decent Fiesta Turbo costs more than the A3's and A classes you see driven about ;)

You won't see many chavs driving them about now.

You'll see more 21 year old chavs from Land Rover driving fiestas and focus' than anybody else. Believe me. It's like a Ford dealership in the car park in Solihull

There's a very nice yellowy/orange type colour one. Driven by a lad no older than 25.

How much long distance driving do you do?

The TT will be fun for hammering it around but not so much for long trips, the Merc will be better for just cruising :)

I had a 250 CLA as a hire car when I drove the Pacific Coast Highway a couple of years ago. Nice enough car, cabins a nice place to be and the boot space was great. It wasn’t particularly quick or rewarding to drive though, even in sport mode.

thanks for the input, thats what im weighing up either go for the fun sporty car less mpg or the luxury semi sporty merc with better mpg lol
