And I think we were both at that game, Spring field park standing on the muddy hill watching people slip on their arses while it was lashing down?
Just watched, didn't join in.
From memory Mickey Gunn scored in 1-0 win. Incidentally Ray Woods purchase based on the cup tie overall( drew at home). He wasn't great but hardly s##t. Same view on Willie Boland also recently mentioned, not top tier class but second tier level.

Has Mikkel Bischoff had a mention?

Onandi Lowe? Mind you, he had a good record. He scored in half his games, 1 in 2 to be precise. Shame the whole drug smuggling thing happened really....

Would have said Gavin Strachan but I played with him in a tournament not long ago and he was the best player in our team and tournament by a mile-we won it aswell!
Think he was in the famous Moldovan team that won at Villa Park aswell.
I played against his team in a charity 5 a side at woodlands a few years back.... we lost but I scored about 5 goals.

Fuck off.

To be the biggest disappointment we’ve had. Signed after a great season at Leeds - woefully underachieved - then magically returned to form when sold.

He was very poor in his first 3 seasons and only in his last season was he close to the form he had at Leeds and subsequently at Liverpool. I think he was carrying an injury which he tried to play through and he eventually broke down in a home game (Spurs?) and ended up missing the 98 WC Finals. I wouldn't say he was shit but he wasn't as good as we had hoped

Larry Lloyd. Bought for a huge fee, fat and lazy and useless. Until Cloughie got hold of him.

Honourable mentions to Gary Collier, Dave Jones and Keith O’Neil but worst I have seen by a mile was John Gayle.

Anyone remember the debut of Colin Hendry?

It was so bad I don`t think many who witnessed it would have forgotten.

He looked like someone the club had plucked from the street and asked if he`d like to have a game. He made a few more appearances before being loaned out.

Another one on the list of "names" that flopped with City.
He signed in 99/00 and was dreadful. Criminally, that twat Strachan kept him over the summer and he got embarrassed by Boskic on the opening day of the next season. We went to be relegated and I don't think he played again.

One of Strachan's biggest problems was that he neglected the centre of defence, was crying out for a decent partner for Breen.

Anyone remember Dylan McGeouch? 8 games on loan from Celtic, was rubbish in all 8 of them.
He scored a belter for Celtic and I thought we had a world beater on our hands

Cue the carpet / panel beater gag

Andy Pearce, John Salako, Martin Lorentzson, Phillipe Clement, Jean Guy Walleme, Colin fucking Hendry, Nigel Jemson (remember him?), Sandy Robertson...i could go on for days, to be honest...

The list of players that were mismanaged under Fat Ron and Gordon Strachan, well, that's a list unto itself.

Did Jemson actually play for us? I have to say I don’t even remember him being here.

He was definitely here, in the reserves, but I now have doubts if he was a signing or a loan/trialist.

I'm sure he came on as a sub in a reserve game, and wandered about pouting and looking quite porky.

He was never the quickest that’s for sure. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was here.

Callum Ball, never a pro footballer. Classic story of a big lad filling his boots by bullying his way through the youth levels.

Scored against Arsenal didn't he mind, least he'll be able to tell the grandkids

Actually he did play again. He went to Bolton on loan and then signed for them making about 25 or so appearances, and I think he played a handful of games for Blackpool too. Christ knows how he managed it.
Edit. Reading your post again I see you may have meant didn`t play again for City.

Yeah I did mean City. I knew he went elsewhere, surprised he even played at Bolton as he was completely shot

Wonder what Kevin Kyle is up to these days...

For some reason I always hear Eeyore's voice whenever I see clips of Kyle 'playing' football: "ohhh deeear, another open goal missed...oh deeeear, pooh'.

Also, Trifon Ivanov, Bulgarian international in 1994, had a trial reserve game for us and managed to kick lumps off 3 opposing players until he got sent off. Good left back in his day, but about as subtle as a Brock Lesnar spear tackle.

David Burrows was shit for us as well, could barely pass straight over 20 yards and seemed to enjoy hoofing long balls up front to midget forwards. Another example of a decent player we sign, and suddenly they're shite.

Finally, Marcus Hall. Ok, he improved in the Championship and always worked his arse off as an attacking left back, but his close control skill and first touch were abysmal. Crossing as well, oof, worse than Leigh Jenkinson.
