charles-cook:7/8- made some good stops, couldn't get near the goal, claimed the ball well, some of his distribution was poor but I liked how he wanted to get it moving.
Phillips-7- tried to get forward well but on tight pitch with a well organised team it was hard for him to really get in. One of his best games defensively, some brilliant last ditch tackles, despite being subject to long balls, he did well, and some of his defending was top notch.
ricketts-8- brilliant signing-MOTM- he's so composed on the ball, really looked to bring it out, again organising the defence, had a tough time with there number 9, but he was physical and pissed of their Henderson a treat.
Martin- 7-probably one of his best games, out of position for their goal mind you, but on a lot of headers , and made some good interceptions.
stokes-8- I really like stokes, think he had another great game today, they targeted him in the first half, but he stood up to it and played brilliantly, second half, he got forward really well, put in some great balls and he just kept on going. I really do like him, he's Improved massively in such a short time.

JOB-7- probably one of our better players going forward, he tried to make things happen, made some good runs, but they defended well and he couldn't get that final ball. If he had a bit more pace he would destroy teams.
fleck-7- poor start to the game, but grew into it, dictated play second half, and drove he team forward at times, some brilliant through balls to team mates, and showed his class at times.
Vincelot-6- not bad but nothing great, ran around and tries to get stuck in, but couldn't really do much last night.
Ruben-6- he had a few good turns and touches, he wants to get on the ball which is good to see, he didn't shirk a tackle and wasn't affected by a physical team, poor pen, but well done to the lad for stepping up. Think he has a bright future, just need ps to bulk up a bit.
morris-5- had an awful first half, got better as the game went on, and I'm not gonna say he's shit as it was his first full competitive game since his surgery. Good pen mind you, and he did one wonderful pass, but at times he didn't seem to want to drive forward with ball. But he looks okay.

Tudgay-7- worked tirelessly, hard work payed off with his goal in which he showed great reactions. 2 goals ruled out, one which was never off, and was a sublime volley, I like him, think team needs to realise if they want him to hold it up it has to be into chest not head. He's good a good footballing brain, he just needs a fast winger to help, JOB tried his best but the 1-2's he tries didn't work .

Madders-7- good sub calmed us down, helped us play, nice and tidy on the ball and always finds the space, needs to have confidence to shoot more, but I like this kid a lot. Maybe should have scored, I can't remember the chance now, but he's going to be key his season.
Thomas-5- not a poor performance, but didn't do anything really when he came on so I can't rate him highly or poorly.

Overall another good team performance, I thought we would lose on pens before the match but sadly I didn't bet. I don't mind the result really, as the team looks as though they cared, they are fighting for the shirt and playing well. That's all I can ask for, and I enjoyed the away day.

Charles-Cook - 7 : Started a bit slow but grew into the game. Couple of decent stops, couldn't do anything about the goal and distribution improved after a poor start.

Phillips - 7 : Wasn't utilised enough for me as he has more pace than Stokes who saw a lot of the play down his side. Couple of good last ditch touches when Rochdale were hitting us on the break.

Martin - 8 : Thought he looked very good last night by just sticking to the basics. Won his headers and didn't put a foot wrong all game.

Ricketts - 8 : Looks a very good signing. Very calm on the ball and and showed some lovely touches, good in the air and likes to bring the ball out from the back but one of those runs ultimately lead to us conceding.

Stokes - 8 : Was a willing runner all game down the left but legs tired massively as the game went on and doesn't have the pace to get back when we lose it. Good in the air and decent in the tackle, decent player at this level.

Vincelot - : 6 Game passed him by quite a lot as they tend to play either wide or direct and when their centre midfielders had the ball we were quite deep and was difficult for him to be effective. Went off early in the 2nd half and not sure if he was injured as looked like he had an ice pack on his thigh above the knee but we were the opposite side of the pitch so might be wrong.

Fleck - 8 : Thought he was one of our better players today when we were on top. Good control and passing and moves forward well with the ball also.

JOB - 7 : Always a willing runner and makes some dangerous bursts behind their back line, think he compliments the team well. Sometimes the intricate play in the middle was a bit too much but that goes for all the midfeilders.

Morris - 6 : Started poorly but to be fair its his first competitive game for some time. Got better as the game went on and was up to speed in extra time! His short passing and touch is what let him down early on but when up to pace looked like a good midfielder. Think he is an ample replacement in the middle when needed.

Ruben - 7 : Looked a little lost at first but after his first run looked more up for it and started to come deep to collect the ball and Rochdale weren't sure what to do with him. Always wanted to be involved and trying to run at their defence and cause problems. Unlucky with his penalty but got a great reception from the fans afterwards and hope his confidence doesn't waver.

Tudgay - 8 : Looked very isolated early on but his hold up play is good and looked much more effective when we grew into the game. Was booked in what looked like farcical circumstances when the keeper tried to kick an early clearance in a box full of players and it hit him and nearly went in. Took his two disallowed goals very well, especially the volley that would've won it and he did very well to steer in the equaliser.

Maddison - 7 : Looked very lively when he came on and can see he has some real class in how he plays and always looking to run at the defence. Would like to see him shoot more often though.

G Thomas - 6 : Didn't do anything wrong and was a willing runner all the time. Think he had a hand in the equaliser too.

All in all a confidence building performance for the fans even if it a disappointing result. Last year we would've gone out of that tie with a whimper and the mentality seems better in the team, they seem up for it. Even though we played well Mowbray didn't hide his disappointment in the interview afterwards and highlighted some negatives (Completely different to what Pressley would've said) some hopefully the players aren't just patting themselves on the back and saying 'unlucky lads' and will be driven to get the result next game.

Agree apart from Thomas and Morris who both were worth a 6 at least. Thomas got an assist.

I thought Morris was decent, few wayward passes but good positional play and got about the pitch.

Agree with all of this including the nod to the Konjic-style suicide run.
