Pask 4 aside from the error he was very poor and offered nothing going forward
Ostigard 6
Hyam 6
Mccallum 6 left exposed and not helped by the defensive midfielders not coming across to support (Kelly does this very well)
James 6.5 thought he should have done much better for the second goal as the space Christie ran into he should be covering
Hamer 7 keep going
Sheaf 5.5 just too narrow
O'Hare 7 kept going as ever, tried to make things happen
Gykores 6 not aggressive enough
Biamou 7 worked very hard and took his goal well, not really the answer but kept working

Rose 6 how many own goals has he scored this season? Good to see him back with the brave passing and not just playing the ball to nothing
Dacosta 6.5 couple of superb first time crosses but needs to vary his movement, tends to hug the touchline where sometimes you need something else
Baka 6 thought he put himself about well actually, fingers crossed his injury isn't too serious

We should have had 6 points against Forest and come away with 0.

Marosi 6 (he wasn't even noticeable on Forest corners which puts much more pressure on the defence. Opposite to Forest keeper)

Pask 6 (at fault for first goal but defended solidly after that)

McCallum 6 (distribution not great. Thought he could blocked Grabham quicker for first goal)

Hyam 7 (looked more assured than recent)

Ostigard 8 (headed everything and very unlucky with header cleared off the line. His distribution has improved so much)

Sheaf 7 (did okay but not as decisive with the ball as Hamer and James)

Hamer 8 (all over the pitch. Some crisp passing into feet and quality long range cross field. Denied a good goal by a brilliant save)

James 8 (quiet first half but controlled the game in the second)

O'Hare 6 (feel guilty giving him a 6 considering another assist and work-rate but I lost count on how many times he gave the ball away in good positions)

Gyokeres 5 (pretty much anonymous today)

Biamou 7 (lovely goal and some decent lay offs and cross but control let him down too often)

Dacosta 9 (motm. defended well when he needed to but some breathtaking wing play. His first time crossing was a real threat)

Rose 7 (after his initial mistake with ball rolling under his foot and then the unfortunate own goal, he played well. His passing was excellent, finding the advanced midfielder several times)

Bakayoka 6 (put himself about. Thought he could have reacted quicker to cross behind defence in 6 yard box which would have been a certain goal. Just hope he is not seriously injured)

Rose 5 ? He played well he’s not match sharp he’s not played

I thought Rose played well and deserves a 7, really unlucky with the OG it was a great ball in from Knockheart.

Dacosta 6.5? You need to spend less time wanking and more watching the game

Marosi 6 Nothing much to do-did he play his part in the own goal with a bit of indecision?

Pask 4 L1/L2 player.

McCallum 5 Struggled 1st half especially, wasn’t pressed or tested in the 2nd half that much.

Hyam 6 Steady enough tonight.

Ostigard 6 Same as Hyam.

Hamer 7 Reasonable as usual but on occasions tried to over do it whereas the simple option may have been the better option instead of the Hollywood ball.

Sheaf 5 Struggled to get into the game.

James 7 2nd half really got going after a bit of a quiet 1st half.

O’Hare 6 High energy and was involved but tonight things really didn’t go his way.

Biamou 6 Extra point for an excellent goal but shortcomings unfortunately shown in the 2nd half.

Gyo 5 Not really at the races.

Subs-

Rose 5 Great if you can pass the ball out of defence as a defender-but the first job is to defend-unfortunately got himself tangled up in a knot.

DaCosta 8 Man of the match. Can’t throw a football but excellent delivery time after time into the box. A fit Godden would have had a field day.

Baka 4 Missed a glancing header-got walloped-that was about it. Hope he is ok.

Jobello N/a.

Robins 7 Saw what we all saw first half and made the changes needed at half time.
Is having to use the tools that are available to him but unfortunately some of them are blunt.

Crazy to give Dacosta such a low score, not sure what else he could've done tonight? He was a constant threat throughout the second half, with several absolute peaches into the box. Deserved a couple of assists.

Good from central midfield, O'Hare good, DaCosta a welcome surprise. McCallum gone to pot the last couple of games at just the time his competition goes elsewhere - let's hope Reid can push him! Central defence reasonable solid, Rose came back well after a shocker.

Strikers? Well...

Surprised Biamou's getting 7s. Got a goal but was all over the shop apart from that - others anonymous.

Baka was asleep on the pitch and not for the first time in his Coventry career but joking aside I sincerely hope he is alright, well taken goal by Max but again his first touch was abysmal for a pro footballer, Pask I would think would be gutted for a token gesture of a tackle for the first goal, O'Hare and Hamer had quiet games by their own standards, Vik held the ball well at times and errr that was it, Marko didn't have a lot to do but he don't like to take charge of his area and come to collect crosses.
We started lively and faded when their goal went in, better 2nd half but never had any quality to break through Forests 10 men defence

Hamer is just as at fault as Pask for the first goal. Gave the ball away needlessly in midfield.

It was a shocking pass, Sheaf would have been slaughtered for it.

That said, they didn't score direct from that as James commited a foul to allow us to regroup. That's why it's so disappointing for Pask to lose his man as it was a dead ball.
I will continue to stick up for him though as he's out of position - it's not a surprise that he loses his positioning from time to time - McCallum did the same when playing on the right etc.

Time to revert to wing-backs again for the forseeable.

We are a bit short in the central defence department with Drysdale on loan, McFadzean returning from Covid, Thompson recovering from a gashed toe and Rose returning from long term injury. He does have Pask, Sheaf and maybe even Eccles as options there but not ideal. At the same time we don't have any orthodox fullbacks to play an effective back 4.
