Serves to highlight how impossible it will be to compete in the Championship without someone being prepared to put up the losses. In CCFC's case it makes getting the Ricoh income absolutely paramount-if we make it out of L1 over the next few seasons it'll be a tough ask to not come right back down otherwise.

The Premier League reportedly planned to stop solidarity payments, a figure distributed among the 72 clubs in the Football League, if those clubs rejected the proposal.
The revised payments meant that instead of clubs relegated from the Premier League receiving £16m a year for two years, they received £48m spread over four years - £16m per season for the first two seasons, then a further two payments of £8m per season.

Probably true. Still, if Wolves or Blackburn get relegated again they will have £16m to play with from a single parachute payment alone-roughly 4 times our annual wage bill!

Most of the parachute payment goes to inflated salaries, look at recently relegated prem clubs and they don't tend to set the championship alight, Wolves, Blackburn, Birmingham all have imo vastly overrated and overpaid players and can't get rid of them.

this is true, however the position is becoming more and more entrenched ,making the term "competition "defunct.

Luckily for us RR voted for the last increase to £48M. with the reward that Championship teams gained an extra Million,but no such succour for the teams of Div3 and lower. Well we got it for one season.

Tis a disgrace in reality ,devide and conquer.

It won't matter that much next season because of FFP it's not about how much you spend it's about what you get for your money. Teams that splash the cash all at once hardly ever have success. Man city have wasted so much money sure they have won the BPL but so much money wasted as well. QPR are going to be in deep trouble, Leicester can't get up despite over 60 million invested over 3 years, Liverpool spent 100mil last season still are mid table, Chelsea have spent millions aren't even close to BPL title. It doesn't matter how much money you have if we go up we will have a team togetherness as we will have built a team with good signings and a winning mentality will help in the championship. Unlike the teams relegated from the BPL who will have a losing mentality and over paid players who don't care about the club.

They did spend a reported £12m on Ramirez and £6-7m on Rodriguez, £16m for Yoshida as well as 5-6 other signings.
