Yep, Wolves were the real enemy - see 'Dougans on the Western front' etc. and yes, as a 12,13,14 year old, went to away matches on the coach, Wolves, Sheffield U, Leicester, Forest, Leeds etc. No segregation, I spent most of the time scared witless!

Think about how YOU feel when sitting at home while the city are away - & they lose. Not demoralised enough??? Do you need your missus to come along & say shit or sing songs to kick you while you're down? No you probably need her to put her mouth around your c...Yours & make it all seem alright in the grand scheme. That probably makes her deep good too...knowing that you feel ok even in such a demoralised state. It helps you move on.

Ironically my only real encourage ter with football hooliganism was a Wolves fan in the West End (I may have known the bastard too!) as he ran away...he booted me up the arse running away to escape & didn't stop to see if I was going to accept his offer of a draw at sunrise

in front of us in the Cov bit suddenly undid his coat to reveal a Wolves scarf and a massive baseball bat. He just started swinging it around trying to hit anyone in the viscinity. Mental!! I was about 13 and was bricking myself.
Ah funnily enough I was about 14 at the time...never even saw him. Might have been a bat rather than a boot!
