Might start drinking around town before matches again. Shame that due to the dysfunctional railway system the train capacity to stop there is so limited. I don't even think they'll do match day specials, not for Cov anyway. They might do for Wasps, it'll be handy for the majority of their fans.

Train from Northampton to Cov. then up to the ground for a few at Hen lane. The train may be the best bit of the day if the home record doesn't improve.

It's perfectly functionable

Not sure I'd agree, not if you want a large number of people travelling by train as it doesn't look like a facility that could cope. The platform looks pretty small not to mention narrow and from the pictures there doesn't appear to be a holding area. What happens if we happen to get a big cup tie and a sold out ground and a decent percentage intend to travel by train?

What exactly did you want?? It's perfectly functionable

Sky blue seats for starters. The canopies to all be in the shape of Jimmy Hill's beard and a nice view of wildebeests sweeping majestically across the plain.

Bearing in mind that the bulk of the cost would have gone into the actual platform then surely a little extra could have been spent on a shelter that can hold more than about 12. The four yes four green seats on each side are a revelation. Glad it's taking shape but in view of the £55 bn spent on projects like Crossrail, perhaps we could have been granted another few grand !?

Fucking hell, some people are never happy. If we did a train station for big cup ties then how often would it be used to it's potential? and if we did build an all singing and dancing station to host the likes of Chelsea and Man U then would we not get the usual moaners on here whinging about another waste of tax payers money?

Besides, wouldn't it be better to be able to upgrade it rather than it not be used fully?

Given the cost involved in anything to do with railways, might I suggest it would be cheaper to build a football stadium next to Cov station than a station next to the ricoh

If you go to Old Trafford, Hillsborough, Stadium of Light from the city centre you are most likely to get the tram, the station at the Ricoh looks just like a tram stop so as long as they match the ammount of trains with demand the "station" is perfectly functionable!

Why would you spend a lot of money on what is effectively a tram stop? If you want anything else that other train stations offer take a stroll to Tescos/M&S etc

Then there will be some queueing involved. They're not going to build a huge station just to deal with the odd 'big cup tie' are they??

We are City fans. We are not happy unless we are moaning.

It's a train station. The train stops right outside the Ricoh.

Maybe you all want conveyor belts from the platform that take you directly to your seat? Is that the problem?

Some people make me laugh. If it would have been the best station for miles around there would have been many moaning that it was only so good because it was built mainly for the Wasps supporters and a waste of money.

I just can't take this any more. I take it a fully functional, pedal powered train engine will be in use for games.

I'd also want to be escorted on said conveyor belt by a monkey butler and greeted at my seat by Michelle Keagan. If not, you can stick your railway station.

We are moaning hardly any fans are going to games and now we are moaning the station won't be big enough to take the vast hoardes of fans who will now suddenly be going up. :D

Its adequate. It will be used to get to and from the stadium, that's all we need.

I favor foresight not hindsight and for that reason I would have made it bigger. I take your point on its better not to be under rather than overused.

Off topic but from the same rational......Look how many motorways are 3 lanes that really should have been built as 4!! Population and car use were easy things to predict but we went and built them to be fit for purpose for 1980 not giving a throught to 2015. Say alot about UK Councillors imo.

For £13.6m two stations with seating for 16 people. Just thinking out loud here...For half of that cost, SISU could have had 32.000 seats less than one hundred yards away!

So they should be extended to 6 lanes because in another 35 years it will be needed? I would prefer the pot holes to be done first.

Really is it either or? Yes pot holes also need attention imagine 5 lanes on the M25....it would reduce stress levels of commuters no end and aid the environment significantly.

We need a name for the station ,Im going for Oggy's stop

I think the 'Moaning Ninny' should be the name of the train that passes through and 'It'snotbigenough' should be the name of the station.
