I know its a little further away, but its sitting there beegging to be used. No sharing or fixture conflicts. There was a posting of another party reconnecting electric a week or so ago.
I had to go past on the way to London last friday so did a small detour to check, its not been painted skyblue -still red and white!

So Is Walsall.

We've been donated £750's worth of Jonstones paint . TBH they may as well use It and then Stay, two birds and all that .

Not much more than 30 as the crow flies, but probably easier driving and a lot less traffic than the route to Wallsall.

:pimp:

Difference with Walsall though is that there will be special direct trains - there in 25 minutes and only 3 quid return. They would have to bus people to Nene Park, unless there is a train station there I am not aware of - been a while since I've been.

Just an idea:
Could ACL pay to film the games live to a big screen at the Ricoh?
Not only would it make more money for Walsall or Nene Park but Fisher would have even less people going to his games.
Also, the JSBs, OAPs and Disabled could watch the games. The Caino and some F&B would get a little money.
I know that SISU would try and stop this but if ACL said they were talking to the stadium owners about doing this it would show more willing from them to work to help supporters and the FL.

Where do you get such info Ferret ,Is It Walsall you sound like you've done the feasibility .
As a matter of interest are you employed by CCFC in any way ,have noticed you produce much information re Crowd numbers /Stats etc?

Unless of course like thousands of City fans you don't live in the City. FFS it's all a non starter !!

No, nothing like that. I've heard WMP have insisted that direct trains be laid on and that they are priced at the same rate as normal trains - which is about 3 quid for a day return within the west mids I think? There's a bit of guesswork on the price and travel times - but I'm told direct trains would be provided.

None of that has come from the club itself though.

I agree, I was just pointing out this key advantage of Walsall over Nene Park. Like you, I hope and pray it's neither.

What you dont seem to understand is, IT IS OUTSIDE OF COVENTRY. That means we wont be Coventry City if we go there. Yes, its unused, yes, its not a groundshare, but it its not in OUR city

Can you really imagine a Tuesday night in December, City { Academy kids} v Stevenage at Walsall or Nene Pk, there would be circa 1000 City fans and 200 Stevenage. Club Killed stone dead !!

According to Torchomatics poll we would be getting about 600 based on last seasons attendance for the same sort of game.

Here's an idea!....................................How about fuck off with Walsall, Nene park, or any other ground. The Ricoh is our home, and should stay that way...minus SISU of course!!!

Who is this aimed at? You're literally providing no new information to anyone at all.

Maybe thats the point! Its not our home! it belongs to the council, and when the team turns up for a home match its little different to an away match. They only get let in 23 times a year, its just a bit more regular that the away venues!

The key advantage of Coventry is that 90% of Coventry City fans live here or hereabouts.

I live in the same town as the stadium. It is a lovely stadium. It is such a shame seeing it go to waste. Used to watch Rushden & Diamonds play there a few times as a kid.

I don't think it would be a good move for Cov, but it is such a waste to be sat there empty.

Cannot disagree with that, I visited when City played a friendly down there, it's a tidy little ground. It needs a local club though, certainly not one from 30 miles away.

We won't be playing anywhere other than the Ricoh, Fisher's hair brained plan is no more.

It would be really interesting to know what the figures are. I wouldn't have thought it would be as high as 90% though.

The key advantage of Coventry is that 90% of Coventry City fans live here or hereabouts.

yes, I would guess at least that. I know it's not very scientific, but a
lot of people around me in our Block tend to be from Nuneaton, Bedworth with a couple of blokes who travel from Banbury.

If you are counting attendees then I imagine 20% of those come from outside of the City at least.

For heavens sake, I think you understand my point.. support is centered on Coventry & most fans who travel here to see games generally have family connections here.

I don't misunderstand your point. I just don't think 90% of attendees live in Coventry.

Same here (I lived in Rushden until I was 18). I used to watch Diamonds every week in the late 90s (when I couldn't drive to Highfield Road), then go out on the piss in Wellingborough before watching Cov on MOTD on a Sunday morning. Now Cov are in League 1, Diamonds don't exist and we're "seriously considering" moving to Nene Park? What the f**k happened?!

You did misunderstand, that is why I said here or hereabouts.. I didn't say Coventry specifically, I'm well aware lots of fans live in Nuneaton, Bedworth, Warwick, Rugby, Kenilworth etc..
