Nick - can't you have a sub forum entitled 'want to have an argument' where people can go to argue / go round in circles etc, whilst things like 'ticket thread' are left for people to discuss things like.... tickets.

One thing is for sure: Looking ahead, the future looks better for AFC Wimbledon than Coventry City. That puts our problems into context .

That's right ADM, you put your money on AFC winning their next few games and see how quickly your opinion changes (and have a glance at the league table come the end of the season)

The Cayman Islands.
Well if the fans of AFC WIMBLEDON go to the MK DONS stadium to watch their team play then i can go and watch the mighty Sky Blues play at the MK DONS stadium.

On that note, this season doesn’t yet have an iconic song.

we have been ripped out of our community.
The comparison would be if a football club was taken from its traditional home and relocated to Coventry would I support them - the answer is no.
Not what I am saying.
If Coventry are relocated outside of Coventry and their community permanently would you still support them?
Just like some Wimbledon fans did with MK.

I wonder if there are any fans from SW London that follow MK despite Wimbledon.
Well a few followed them when they moved so who knows.
Had a run in with them at the Ricoh a few seasons ago, they got fed bullshit by City fans in the casino and decided to attack our peaceful sisu protest.

By the way.. as the OP.... I got my tickets less than 24 hours after ordering. There are so many opinions about the rights and wrongs about MK Dons and I don’t pretend to have any answers. But I live close by but am Sky Blue from the 1960’s. So I’m going to celebrate my 60th birthday with mates at the football. With beer. And the SBA. And probably more beer.

I've got ST at SA but I won't support a permanent relocation.
I will have to think seriously about renewing if there isn't at least some sign of getting us back to Coventry next season.
But then again, teams have played our side of their home towns for longer and returned successfully.
The MK situation is different because they changed the name and the relocation was permanent.

Seems to me that when some people are losing an argument they start to throw insults around.
You never did come back to me,by the way, and say at which level the ‘Dog and Duck’ label kicks in.
Having read your replies which are above this one, it seems to be that it is okay for people in MK to support the Dons as there was no league club in the town, and the non- league team were at Dog and Duck level, so they don’t count, and the unfairness of the move and the distress to Wimbledon fans doesn’t count.
However, you feel it is not okay for the people of Coventry and Warwickshire to support Wasps as there was already a rugby club here who presumably were better than Dog and Duck level.
With MK fans you seem prepared to totally disregard the injustice of what happened to Wimbledon, even though you acknowledge it was wrong.
It must be my simple mind but I just can’t understand how you can have that view.
I would class Mercedes Benz FC as "Dog and Duck", they were a group of factory workers who played Sunday league, geez, I can't believe 10k people weren't there to watch them play every week.

As I've stated many times over we had a 145 year old Rugby club at the heart of our community when Wasps moved in, MK obviously had nothing like that. Clearly we will have to agree to disagree although its staring you in the face that the 2 situations are different.

I have shown absolutely no disregard for Wimbledon fans, you're just making stuff up now. read further up, "I feel awful for what happened to Wimbledon fans and of course the move wasn't right", Ive echoed that sentiment throughout. However the football club is there and it will stay there, it is not the fans of MK who have caused this heartache.

Don’t you have to collect all season tickets purchased now from the white hut at St. Andrews?

The lady in the ticket office asked me to confirm my address so it can be posted out, unless she has made a mistake?

Not a team that was ripped from the heart of its community.[/QUOT
They were close to defunct. Put it in the box marked "It's a tough old world" alongside Accrington Stanley (1962) and Maidstone (1992), and move on.

In the end football Clubs are not social services, they are just businesses with unusually fanatically loyal customers and weird business economics

Yeah like ticket sales come to our club rather than someone else
And?
Well they should have thought of that loh yes forgot they did.
Thing is there are people who genuinely cant go to brum every week. We are taking an old lady on Sunday she was a season ticket holder at the ricoh even though she lives very close to the ground she still needed a lift to get there it was quite easy so she went to every game.
Now we have to leave really early so that we can drop her off at the ground before they close the roads, then one of us has to stay with her as the other one goes to find a parking space, then we have to wait for the road to reopen before we can pick her up again after the match makes for a very long day.
Dont really want to have to do that every week also cant make it every game.

Drop her in b and m car park or by it, park on the road and job done.

What road?
Struggled to find somewhere close last game, all had time limit or resident parking took us 15 -20 minutes walk.(around Coventry road)

Drop her by b&m and those shops and it's a very short walk. Then just dump the car wherever there's a space not on double yellows

The thread relates to MK specifically, I feel for those that can't go,but we've been forced down this path and I've decided to at least go for this season and see where we are then. The club is at the crossroads and this season is crucial and Mark Robins deserves our support in my opinion. Those that go to away games only may not have any to go to otherwise
But there's a differance berween 0ne game away in another town to 20 odd.

As things stand their fans have more to look forward to than ours, a new stadium less than half a mile from pough lane. Maybe they might want to tempt wasps to share their stadium.
