This might interest a few on here. Hope they've got some of the classic old adverts lined up!

If you're feeling ghastly.....

Where did he end up? He fronted a corporate vid for us about 30 years ago seemed a good laugh.

Same place as pretty much every local radio "personality" since that time, Reg - on the scrap heap caused by the "delocalisation" of independent local radio by the organisations like GWR (they started the slippery slope), Capital, Bauer Media and Global.
No such thing as local radio anymore (other than a handful of internet stations).
And don't get me started on the BBC's diversity policy which has put loads of very capable professional male presenters out to pasture, in favour of useless women!

I remember the morning news when John Lennon had been shot. I'm a huge Lennon fan and was quite pleased to wake up to back to back Lennon stuff. Then the presenter (Astley?) said something like, "If you're wondering why I'm playing so many John Lennon songs, it's because some bastard has shot him dead!" He actually used the word "bastard" and emphasised it too. I had to wait to listen to all the news reports on any station just to see if it was true. I was heart broken. I had the day off work!

He was. I heard it last Saturday. Bob the sheep (real name. Trevor Thomas who if recall does travel news AA roadwatch on various stations.)
He's lean and he's mean and he's Mark Keen.

Loved that show as a kid.

Might have to see if I can listen to it on "catch up".

he runs a ‘stop smoking’ franchise now and is a qualified therapist helping people get of the fags... I used to like him at night. He’s a big villa fan as it turns out...
